My dishwasher control knob got stuck on dry. Like a dummy I let it go after knowing that and was going to see if it advanced. Well it didn't. That thing got so hot is melted a hole in the plastic feed tube that goes up to the top shelf. Holy shit. The silverware holder is wavy, the rack is blackened. I had to jury rig the metal things on the rack to make the tube hit the top it was off by a couple of inches. I'm not going to worry about the hole it wasn't that big. But now I only use it on air dry. I have another virtually identical unit up the road, they are good dishwashers those knobs won't last forever. I don't like the new dishwasher as much it takes freaking too long to cycle sure it's a bit quieter but it takes 2x as long. We took the portable unit and converted it to hard plumbed on the unit up the road. Works great. Had a drip around the supply tube pain in the ass started dripping after install but live and learn. Little plastic thing that the water supply connects too needed to be reinstalled.

One of my favorite things as a professional plumber, is walking into the job, and seeing the channel locks, vice grips, crescents wrenches, screwdrivers all over the kitchen counter and cabinet. Tool teeth marks all over the brass of the faucet. Shards of metal in the sink from them trying to fix faucet. Then I easily sell the job for a very good wage and proceed to pull the milwaukee sawzall out of the truck and cut that bitch off in 30 seconds. Clean up their mess, install a new faucet, collect a check, and head off to the next one.

As an electrician, I enjoy making fun of plumbers on a regular basis.

hahah... It's all good... As a plumber we can laugh it off. We show up, the job site stops and bows to us, we get our job done, blow outta there, then all the subs jaws drop at our bill, and they wish they had chose plumbing

I used to love getting tile setters in trouble. I would show up to a kitchen remodel, and the old shitty dishwasher would be tiled in, and i would be like "Where's the fuckin GC on this job?"
Thats one thing about plumbing and electrical. Everybody else better get the fuck out of the way. Everyone wants to play the game of "fuck the next guy", but if they fuck the plumber or the electrician, someone's getting fired.
The three things you need to know if you're gonna be a plumber:
shit rolls downhill payday is on friday don't bite your fingernails

Bingo. I always make it a point to befriend the other subs but especially the plumbers cos they can fuck me over pretty badly with stub out locations and stuff if they really want to. I worked for a master electrician once who was a righteous asshole to everyone and was constantly getting fucked by the plumbers. I went out of my way to talk to them about it and they were cool cos I told them it just meant more shit for me to deal with really, haha.

But really, I don't do any new construction these days. If I'm doing regular electrical work it's generally service calls and troubleshooting, I am in renewables for now cos it's a little better money (at least until I get my master cert later this year).

Is there a reason other than extreme laziness that most electricians outlet boxes are typically off by 5 degrees clockwise? I know, if they had to use a level, then the price goes up. If they clean up after making a mess, then the price goes up. You wouldn't want to pay somebody that much money to clean up would you?

They're usually nail on if it's residential, so blame the stud or the helper who sucks at swinging a hammer.
