Thanks for any info guys

Have somebody spawn them for you while you're gone

If the bags can be placed in the fridge that's what should be done to slow the metabolic rate. The fifth is a little way away, The bags will be over colonized possibly to the point of invitro fruits due to over incubation by then.

Even better idea. Get your materials ready to build by Wednesday. Build Wednesday. Tubs will colonize while you are gone. There may even be fruits once the tubs are returned to.

Evrything is ready I pasturized 15lbs of hpoo/ vermiculite saturday while kids were at grandparents. Their sealed in 2 bigger spawn bags and froze in the freezer. Just need to thaw.

50 percent hpoo 25/25 coir vermiculite. Pasturized for 45 min at 165. Then strained till field capacity was reached then sealed in big spawn bags and sealed then froze after they cooled a bit

45 minute pasteurization is only half the amount of the standard average time from in which materials are pasteurized. 90 minutes is the golden standard.

I was following roadkills tek. Since I have them all sealed up in bags I can repasturize pretty easily. Should I repasturize for 90 min then b good?

After I held temperature at 165 for 45 min I put the lid on my pc and it stayed their for over an hour? I'm sure the temp slowly went down. So what do u think hamloaf. Think I'm good or should I start over?
Thanks

If you pasteurized the materials in jars, and gauged the temperature from the internal core of the bulk substrate materials with a meat thermometer, then that what you described most likely won't be a deal breaker. 165F is on the high end of the pasteurization temperature range.

I used a pillow case with digital wire prob in center. Never went over 165. And had thermometer in water so substrate and surrounding water bever got over 165. After it cooled down on stove to enough for me to handle I strained till field capacity. Then loaded bags and sealed then froze.

Ah, the pillow case tek. If the spawn is clean it should be fine. Problem with the pillow case tek is that the nutrients are leeched from the bulk substrate materials during pasteurization.
Next time try mixing the bulk materials together dry, then bring them to field capacity, load them in either jars, or spawn bags, place them in a large pot on the stove, fill up the pot with water to until the water is level with the substrtate materials, and use water as the heat transferring medium instead of soaking, and leeching your substrate materials in a pillow case.
