Lysol
    #2426456 - 03/13/04 08:00 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

It seems that a lot of people use lysol disinfectant spray . Has anyone compared lysol disinfectant liquid ? It seems to me that in a solution of 10% in a spray bottle would be cheap and very convient . Perhaps a good enough solution to add to Joshua's list of essentials . The bottle of lysol disinfectant recomends 2 oz. per gallon that seems like a very small amount to me as that would be a little over 1% .

I never heard of liquid lysol but alot of people do a 10% solution of bleach to water which is even cheaper

either would be fine, the thing to remember is that the aerosol can puts the solution into the air in very small particles which causes it to stay air born longer and kill other harmful air born matter. A spray bottle will produce larger particles and therefore not stay air born as long, killing less of the harmful mold spores you are trying to get rid of.

Shine on!

the can of lysol is 79% alcohol... makes it evaporate off surfaces easily and diasinfects too...

That in mind it would be as easy to make a solution with ethanol , isopropyl or methanol . Heet is fairly cheap as is isoproypl . Alcohol would also have the added benifit of makin the solution drops smaller due to less surface tension in alcohol .
