Presto Food Dehydrator (care questions)

For those who use the Dehydro or dehydrators that are alike:
1. I bought the Dehydro, and I plan on using it for more than drying shroomies, but I'm worried about spores flying around in it and eventually clogging heating elements and wearing down parts I can't get to. Does anyone have any input on this? I don't exactly want mycelium sprouting on my dried fruit.
2. Is the air current strong enough to blow around tiny mushies once on the dry side? My bedroom fan blew those tiny ones all around in the homemade rack I used before.
-and-
3. For users experienced with these models, what truly is the general approximate time for drying those good 'ol sillycybies? This model doesn't have a cutoff that I know of, and no settings, just plug 'n play.
Thanks!

The spores will stay attached to the mushroom during the drying process and will not clog up any parts in your dehydrator.
Of course, try to pick your mushies as soon as the veil begins to break away from the cap. Those plug in dehydrators will usually get to the max temp of 165f, which is what you want, but double check just to make sure.
Depending on the size of your mushrooms and how dense they are, you want to dry for 6-12 hours, but could be longer.
Always test them to make sure they're cracker dry before storing or you could have some potency loss. The stem should snap like a twig when minimal pressure is applied.

there's nothing to clog anyway it's like a computer fan and the heating elements from a hair dryer

1. what? thats not the way it works. its not pollen.
2. a dehydrator has a tiny fan. not a huge room fan.
3. i dry 170f-180f for 24hrs. plug and play are the best

Thanks for the responses, I've been drying out the mushies and while it's my first time drying in one of these, and 2nd time drying overall, they seem to be getting cracker dry and in only about 3 hours.
For $40, it was a good deal. Beats my first setup, which did the job OK but took 2 days.

If they are especially small maybe. But I would be dubious. They can't be too dry so I would leave them on overnight just to be sure.
