What hygrometer to use in automation setup?????

What kind of hygrometer should I use to monitor the humidity levels in my grow room? I have tried a couple of different low end models and they seem to fail rather quickly. I am looking for a durable accurate device. Perhaps even something that has a power controller attached to it. I have seen the ones mycosupply offers but they seem rather expensive and I am unsure on there quality (no offense lana). Anyone use one of these? What sort of solutions does everyone have out there? Seems most consumer models aren't build to withstand the constant high level of humidity involved in mushroom growing. Thanks for any and all response.

I would recommend the Oregon Scientific humidity/temp sensor. http://www2.oregonscientific.com/accessories/thgr268.html
Its top quality, and hasnt failed me yet. Another member of the shroomery recommended it to me last year, and I have not been let down! Its well worth the money, and is even very accurate in sub 99% humidity areas/grow rooms.

I wouldnt bother with a humidity controler. Just have a humidification setup go on for a few min 2 times a day using a digtal minuite timer, or just give them a misting once a day. KISS isnt just a theory its the truth, having total optimal conditions wont give you that noticible of a diffrence.

http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28018 there is a humidty/temp sensor for automation. but its cheap so be aware "The relative humidity sensor is similarly accurate: +/- 3.5% in the range 20% to 80%." good for how cheap it is.

Which is rather useless for mushroom cultivation, since the fun begins at 80% RH.

I'm with m0rb on this one. The sensor he lists can transmit wirelessly as well. If you get the main monitoring unit, you can utilize up to three satellite units.
Radioshack also offers nearly (if not) identical models as well.
I have been using my Radioshack models for quite a while now, with excellent results.
Main unit: 63-1030 (includes one satellite unit) Satellite: 63-1031

they have a sweet wireless 2 zone hydrometer thermometer. it has a base station and a remote sensor that works up to about 50 feet away. I have found this item to be quite acurate compared to a number of other hydrometers including airguide guages. it is made by GE and is a real quality item. it was on sale for 27 dollars as well! there was a similar item at home depot but the thing sucked total ass and was obviously a piece of crap compared to this one so i took it back, it also cost more. Target is the shit!! home depot can be a big rip off for certain items. i found this weather station at target to be a very ingenious instrument with a equally informative and thourough manual.

hey commersh, I was looking at buying that same wireless hygrometer (Walmart). I'm not sure what company made it but it was produced by The Weather Station, I am assuming its the same exact one ur talking about. I was looking at the package and it did not say in what increments the RH is accurate to. If you own one of these can you tell me how accurate they measure? thanks.

As of yesterday, they had these marked down to $10. I bought the last 8 - set for life. Oh yeah - the one I got said accurate up to 100 feet.
