I bought the same one. I only used it to incubate a few cakes. Now I just use the tub for growing bulk haha. Those cakes they sent were crappy, dry, too dense. My blue bun was cracked all over when I got it, they never responded. I got a humidor from them, lid was Broken, And the Lc jar they sent didn't have a stirring magnet. Lots of issues, waste of money and time. Except for those first 5 cakes haha

I use mine to incubate jars now after inoculation. Fits 12 jars very nicely, the water heater in bottom bin works great to maintain temp and all. Had no issues with mine till i went to fruit. I got some harvest but low humidity horrible air exchange... some holes drilled will be a good start

My upgrade. 105qt, 2.5inch grid of drilled holes on all 6 sides, tropic aire humidifier and air exchanger. Lights not necessary with normal day light.
I used this site and forums and built my own. Very affordable and very noticable difference.

I ordered one online... wouldnt be hard to make one though. Air hose in with bubble stone on, a type of diffusor sponge and air into chamber... basically the same as the jar sitting in the chamber with bubbler in. Just this is sealed outside, has a diffusor sponge thing in. It sends no mist or fog, pure humid air. It has been very functional to me. Still need your perlite and all but for air exchange and a solid humidity ot does perfect. I never fan or mist now.

And you don't roll in verm either. You have a few pins but nothing like what you could have if you did shit right..
A humid air pump doesn't replace misting, nor will it ever.

Im still learning as well... i didnt dunk after birth, place straight in fc. I did dunk the 6 penis envy but didnt roll... i have 12 new inoculated jars i just placed in the incubator... will be dunking and rolling them... the only thing i have seen misting with my setup is puddles of water forming on top of cakes. Im not saying im right but it is what is working for me right now. Been through a few grow guides and books, read the teks and all on here. Im doing what works as a starter. But excellent advise. The dunk and roll will make a different on my new jars.

About 5 fruitbodies a cake and those cakes are pretty fuckin dry. No wonder there isn't much pinning.. This is what it should look like if you follow these teks:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21595437 https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23999053 https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23709670
Mist until glistening with absolutely no pooling water. And maintain that. This takes practice you gain with experience. Not something you just ignore when it doesn't work.
This is what it will eventually turn into..

3rd flushes from some ok clones...

4th/5th flushes, perhaps even beyond!

I don't even grow cakes, but dunking and rolling, and proper misting is the most vital thing you need for this..

Im getting more than 6 per cake. This is after a dunk and new sgfc. I will take your advise, and i think i misted to much when i did try, any special way to do it? Spray over cakes around against walls? Im trying to learn the most i can, im still new to this but love it. My first flush was nice. They are golden teachers. I look at quality over quantity. I ate a gram and got minor visual but heavy floating enlightenment and giggles. I stay right around 77f degrees and my humidity has been sticking 97-99%. I think i have the setup and all good, now practice some detail attention i suppose.

You honestly just take a flashlight, and watch as you mist. You want a sheen on them with no pooling. You can mist up close and personal just fine.
Definitely a great hobby, and honestly don't get hung up on humidity. It isn't the same thing as surface hydration. A happy surface with high fae will perform the best, and caps don't even begin cracking until under 50% rh. That means fae is the most important, as is the consensus on here.
RR actually found the sgfc performed the best with 3/8" holes as opposed to the standard 1/4", but he figured 3/8 was too much misting for the typical noob

Excellent, thank you!! I did 1/4 holes. Could my humidifier running constant be to much fae and drying the cakes?
