Haha, yeah man. Radiohead is a very tripped out band for sure. Their music is influenced by psychedelics, when listening to the music on the drugs yourself this becomes very clear. They put lots of subtle things in there that normally don't sound like a big deal but really stand out and are really cool when your tripping. Any band combining classic trip rock with modern electronics makes for a good time tripping.
Don't count out the greats though...pink floyd, hendrix, the beatles, etc. Those bastards soked themselves in LSD and it Shines through.
Other awesome bands to listen to tripping: nirvana, sonic youth, slowdive, electric wizard, bjork, queens of the stone age. They all take you on a little ride.. Most of the greatest albums of all time are really intended for people tripping.

yea true true completely agree..didnt know their music was influenced by drugs...although one of their songs talked about breathing walls so that made it kinda suspicious

Radiohead is the best band for tripping to ever. Kid A is great. Man, makes me want to trip now.

Actually, I don't know that this is completely true. Some of the members are keen on psychedelics, but Thom, who writes all the songs and then brings them to the band, has a fear of psychedelics, I've heard. What I've heard is that he's afraid that if he goes on a trip, he'll never come back. I thought for a long time that 'Pyramid Song' (droooooooooooool) was about a DMT trip, but apparently not. All the trippy, subtle stuff is just damn good dreamy production. And definitely some of the best production I've ever heard.

I had a very intense "trip" while listening to 'Pyramid Song' while incredibly stoned. I had the song on repeat because it was greatly pleasing (<--understatement) every single one of my senses. It was the evening of 9/10/01. After listening a few times through while deeply visualizing my own emotional symbolism, I felt heavily pressured by some unknown, intuitive force to rise from my bed (where I'd been spacing off) and articulate these lucid, vivid, INTENSE symbols and feelings I'd been experiencing. The articulation came out to be a kind of poetic, prosaic little piece with some very intense symbolism foreshadowing the grim events to come the very next day (though I didn't realize this until the very next day). I get the chills whenever I read that poem. I don't know whether to attribute this experience to psychic sensitivity enhanced by the weed, to the beautiful teleport-ative magic of that song, or to both.  :3rd_eye:

I've also had intense "trips" while listening to 'How to Disappear Completely' but while under the influence of nothing peculiar.

The one thing I should really recommend to other people,
is listening to some classical music; that's about the best music there is for tripping.
Or any music that hasn't been touched with a computer; like a didgeridoo-session, african percussion, etc.
I like sphongle too, but it always seems too artificial to really love it.

( and for some odd reason, I always begin to dance when listening to Bob Marley tunes ...  )

I like how in myxamatosis there's the line 'I'm tongue tied' and it cuts off half way into the word tied. They put so much effort into every little part of their music. The way they use synchopation (sp?) with overlapping voices and using voices as instruments is incredible.

i'm a radiohead freak, personally.. and Hail To the Thief is a great tripping album.  so are Kid A and Amnesiac..  OK Computer has some amazing sounds to trip you out, too...

I prefer Kid A & OK Computer, myself.

but as for them being drug-fueled.. no, I disagree completely.

to my knowledge.. which is fairly extensive for being some joe-schmoe fan of theirs.. Thom doesn't do psychadelics.  maybe occasionally?  but i know that he writes most of the songs.. Jonny (the one with long hair/lead guitarist) really dresses up the music, too.. he adds a lot of the trippiness to their sound, and he apparently doesn't touch drugs either..

I know Ed does.  The tall guitarist.  He's a stoner at the very least.  Colin, the bassist, probably does his fair share.. and who knows about Phil, the drummer.. he probably doesn't.  He seems like more of the family man..

anyway, i'm a freak about that shit.. sorry for rambling..

peace and enjoy your listening experience.

I've read something where he mentioned doing shrooms as well as being a stoner.
