My first shimeji, not very successful, will go for 2nd flush.
Inoculated with liquid 28.12.
I noticed pins inside a bag a month ago.
I tried to fruit it properly (humidity and all) at 60F but it was too cold, mushrooms grew but aborted midway.
It grows surprisingly well in drier environment.
Mushroom smells interesting. Will gladly eat it tomorrow.

First time inoculating logs today! Did some turkey tail logs via sawdust inoculation, also have a jar of Ganoderma Oregonenses and Shiitake lined up for logs as well  did more logs than shown in the pic, this pic was taken part way through setting up and getting the logs out of my car.

Duuder... don't let a little agar supply problem throw you off cloning. Take two pieces of cardboard, wet them then take a tissue sample and place it between the two pieces then throw the whole thing in a zip lock. Open it every few days... good as gold. Transfer the new tissue to Agar for clean up when you get the agar.

you're welcome.
=)

This is one of my morels I found in a popper thicket yesterday, I didn't take pics of any others I felt this was the prettiest specimen. I left a lot of pins to mature to ill go back in a day or two.

If you have many more logs planned, do yourself a favor and get an angle grinder and the adapter.  It will make that drill seem useless.

They tasted way different than the Blue Oysters I have grown on straw;which surprised me. They tasted delicious, a tad more full in strength of flavor but less deliciousness than Blues. They definitely tasted more raw mushroomy than cooked; even though they were cooked fully.

I actually found this while visiting a homie and going to a show. We went on a hike and found them. If I was near home or had something on me I would have cloned them. I have King and Blue Oysters going at the moment; but it still would have been cool to clone them.

Transferred my first oyster spawn from the (flat) bag it was in onto a bed of napkins in a tin pan, covered with vermiculite and misted heavily. Seems happy this morning!

Great name! A Mentat Mycologist- I like it. Be guided by the Mentat teaching:
Quote:

A process cannot be understood by stopping it. Understanding must move with the flow of the process, must join it and flow with it.

Is that a block of grain spawn? If so break that baby up and mix it in with sawdust using Lipa's Fuel Pellet Pasteurization Tek and get the most out of it! Looks like a really strong strain!

Edited to add: Welcome to The Shroomery! May Shai'hulud clear the cultivation path before you, and leave some great worm casings in your substrates
