Anybody had one? Sure would be nice to not have to worry about. Just freeze some sperm or whatever for when I want kids eventually.
When you think about it like that its like why don't all people do this? Isn't it not that expensive? Can't remember where I heard that. Probably not covered by insurance i guess...and it is surgery.

Ouch..
I knew a dude who got one, he was a neighbor, lived up the street, I only hung out with him once, he was looking for weed one time and me and my buddy helped him find sum and we smoked him out. He told us all about the procedure n shit, said it wasn't painful or anything and it was quick.. The dude was also whipped af by his wife, and it showed.. I think his wife made him do it too.. He didn't seem to mind tho.. But Just the thought of a vasectomy.. Yikes.. But hey it's none of my business..
Also, mr Thomson, from You me and Dupree, tried to persuade Carl into getting a vasectomy..

Give it 10 years before you commit. Seriously. Things and especially people can change radically in time.

It was covered by insurance and cost me a little over 300 out of pocket, plus a little more for the second test to make sure I was negative. My sister probably spends that on her twins per week. And they are not even close to college age. Nothing beats the peace of mind of firing away with reckless abandon and no worries.
They have an arthroscopic type technique now that has no cuts and no stitches. Though it was quite disturbing to be awake and hear the whole thing going on.

I have been considering it, and I have a few friends that have had one. No insurance cost, assuming you don't fall into some sort of govt. subsidized plan will be about $800. That's what I was quoted as a cash price from the nicest urology clinic in my city.
Sperm banking is about $1000/yr near me. The procedure for insemination when your ready to have a kid would likely be many thousands of dollars and that is something I don't think insurance would cover.
I have a friend who got chronic epididymitis after his vasectomy and it sounds awful. That's my biggest hold up, the small risk of chronic pain. My friend had pretty sensitive treaties before the vasectomy and it got worse after so he is not sure if the pain was caused by the vasectomy or not, but it sounds like his testicular pain was exacerbated by it...
I know a lot of dudes that recovered super fast and noticed no change and that is obviously the norm... I wish vasagel would hit the market, I would get that done is a heartbeat.

I had it done. I already have a bunch of kids so I never even remotely looked back or worried about that aspect of it. Definitely don't want anymore.
It only cost me $50 out of pocket, short procedure. It is a little unnerving as they don't usually put you to sleep, they didn't on me. The most uncomfortable part of getting it done is a numbing shot directly through the scrotum and into each tube. Freakin ouch. Sitting still while some dude takes sharp objects to the cajones is a test of faith too. He goes, "Do you want to watch?"
Uh, no thanks.
I kept hearing a weird little whirring sound followed by an odd smell. After it was all said and done I asked what it was and it turns out he was cauterizing the wounds. Glad I didn't ask while it was happening, ignorance is bliss.
The only other thing worth mentioning as far as the procedure itself is I wasn't able to properly rest, I pretty much had to keep doing my regular thing and so the healing process was long and painful. Walking for extended periods made my nuts hurt for a couple weeks, or any minor jolt down there was just really painful. Also, no sex for like a month. That sucked.
But now I have absolutely no worries when it comes to sex. I'm monogamously married so I just don't have to worry about protection whatsoever.
It was worth a lifetime's worth of worry free creampies.

Just have your spouse/SO get their tubes tied. There already having babies and shit, might as well have that shit done.
No reason for me to get cut open when they already are.

Just the thought of the cutting and shots and whatever they do down there really freaks me out. I won't say I will never get one but I don't think I have the balls to go through with it. I already have two kids, one step son one is mine, and I think that's plenty. They are already a handful, especially my step son who is 8 and is diagnosed with autism has a good bit of trouble in school both with behavior and also socially getting along with other kids. He does seem like he is getting better with that stuff though. Also got a 2 and a half year old and he has been really well behaved but is getting to the terrible 3 stage and starting to act up a bit.
But regarding the vasectomy just thinking about it makes me squirm always has.

It really isn't bad.
The worse experience I've ever heard of was mine among people I know who've had them.
But yeah. Uncomfortable no doubt.
No pain no gain. I'm very happy I chose to.

Or just have your girl get an IUD... it can be taken out whenever, no surgery, one little insertion and boom baby free for anywhere 5-12 years
