yes, remove the gloves for sure

and potentially remove the lid and sit it on top of a slightly damp towel, upside down, and work on a rack above it. this is totally optional, but can be a big help in trapping contams and preventing them from being stirred up by your motions

last time the cicada broods came through the east coast i took my 2nd shroom trip.

the shrooms started to build quick and so i told my gf(future wife) to take us back
to her place to chill. on the way we stopped at 711 to grab some supplies.

while waiting in line the hotdogs started to expand and the floor was breathing..
also i noticed this oddly pleasant sensation coming up my spine.. slowly.. i moved
ahead in line and as i approached the checkout i finally put my hand up my shirt
and felt the itch only to pull out a big ass cicada.

i freaked the fuck out and threw it on the floor and stomped it. infront of the clerk who was hindu or whatever.
he gave me a look like i just crushed his ancestors. my wife was horrified as she paid for our shit and we left.

not really a confession but ive never been able to 'kill' anything while tripping since then.. and the broods are returning...

I would have freaked out as well.. Geez... I once thought, on a pretty strong acid trip, I had a bug inside my ear, I completely flipped. I went in there with a cotton swab, some tweezers, tried looking with a mirror, and aaaah, there it was, a simple hair going straight in my ear canal, rubbing it's end against my ear drum.. Ever since then, I've had the hair in the ear thing happening to me once or twice every year. Always bugs me, but I'm one of those people who can't even get past a hair in my shoe. Keeps tickling my foot. I've got waaaay to sensitive skin...

just posted this in another thread, but it definitely belongs in here

i actually havent eaten shrooms in years... i love to grow, but havent tripped in a long time. not since my last "heroic" trip lol...

i made tea for 10-15 people, and no one drank but a few sips. it was so delicious (jasmine tea base) that i ended up finishing it, and then ate the fruits that were steeping in the tea.

at this point i was having the best trip of my life, realized some fundamental shit about the universe that will make me go insane if i think about it too hard... i realized all matter is inseparable from the rest of the universe, in its origin and destination, and that time is an illusion, that we are made up of elements that originated in the breakdown of stars, and that those iron and calcium molecules didnt have any more "free will" then than they do as a part of a living organism, and that free will and time are both illusions we evolved to cope with consciousness and evolutionary pressures

i then walked into my drying room, where i had many, many kilos drying on racks, and i ate handful after handful of fresh cubes, no idea how many but it was many ounces, i ate until i was full

then i went to my room and the fuckin gospel started coming to me. i felt compelled to document these extremely profound thoughts, felt as if they were the most important thing in the universe, and was really ill with my friends in the other room that they werent helping me document these discoveries that were so significant to me at the time. so i covered my walls with sharpie, mainly writing the words "breathe" and "exist" and most of all "THANK YOU"

i then went to my typically filthy college kid bathroom, took a shit on the floor, and sat down and stared at it for 3 hours. thats when the trip started getting shitty... dont do that, terrible idea

so thats when my friend walked into the bathroom with his girlfriend, and discovered my little ritual and my extensive graphiti hahahahahah.... i actually havent heard from either of them since, imagine that

i think i had freaked that girl out once before at a frat party, where i was tripping balls (my sense of humor gets dark as fuck when i trip), and for some reason i thought the subject of canibalism was the funniest shit in the universe, and was getting SUCH a kick out of the way people reacted when i talked about it during beer pong or something, i would laugh my fucking ass off at the terror it invoked in drunk sorrostitutes

so yeah i think that indecent was a little too much for them... didnt invite them anyway, its what they get for dropping in unannounced lol

  so yeah, i havent even felt like tripping for a while since then. i wont trip unless my mind is in a good place, and it hasnt been for a while, family issues and stuff, i worry too much. college was fun though

hahahahahahaha, love the story!!! It reminds me of a similar story I once read here. In that story, I think the guy ended up waking up in the middle of the street, standing, naked, with shit covering his body.

The shrooms have talked to me about things like this. They have told me that they demand respect for themselves, and when they are denied this respect, they will deny the subject who took them any respect. That's how people end up under a train (France, couple years back) or jumping off a bridge (France), or killing their dog (Netherlands, but a French guy, apparently they have some beef with French people :p )

I think most of these incidents were with alcohol in the mix. The train thing I don't recall alcohol, but might have been as well. Either way, the mushies have always told me to either stay at home or very carefully assess outside situations, and preferably not to choose crowded scenes. Respect goes both ways...

Glad I'm not the only one that realised these things manifest as concious entities. MDMA is like drinking 10 cups of french press.
Shrooms are like carpooling with an extraterestrial, a shaman and a mage.

Whats up with all these cultivators that do these heavy duty grows but havent tripped in the longest? You dont see this on marijuana cultivation sites. I have a lot of fun making agar plates and watching the myc grow but I would not be doing this if I could not get psyched. At least thats what I think. Are you just getting off seeing canopys? Or am I talking to suk merchants who sell bulk?

Maybe you guys have been possessed by the mycelium and are being coerced into growing :hehehe:

WE'VE BECOME PART OF THEIR REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE!

haha, actually, you are quite right. The mushrooms chose me to grow them, not the other way around.

I only trip about once or twice a year, some years I don't trip at all. It's a love thing. The love for shrooming is really a love for the organism for me, and eating them is like sex. Only my libido is not as active as it used to be (we all get older), so I don't have sex that often anymore. Even with my partner. She is actually always waiting for me to be ready for sex. Both with shrooms and actual sex

And yes, we have become part of their reproductive cycle. It's like that the other way around too, tripping with your partner almost always leads to sex. For me, that is..

oh, and besides that, I can often feel the mushrooms in my stomach without even eating them. Handling mycelium or shrooms is enough to feel the magic for me. When they call a micro-dose a half gram, I always wonder how others react to half a gram dried. I call 0.1g dried a microdose. That has me feeling the magic just barely, but definitely noticeable. A half gram dried has me all tied up in a knot, and back to relaxed, and back to tied, pretty much all day.

for me it's all about learning. I get off on learning stuff, and on overcoming challenges

I've certainly done my share of drugs haha.... i just have avoided psychedelics for a while mainly because of where my head has been. my roommate at the time of that story died and then my best friend passed away recently

I try not to trip if I'm having lots of bad dreams

On top of what I said earlier, I myself have noticed that situations that would have led me to take shrooms earlier in life, now are dealt with much easier, I feel in part thanks to the shrooms helping me take a different view on things. They put things in perspective, and that sort of awakens the capability to do that without using shrooms as well.

Basically, I used to have a myriad of reasons to take shrooms, and now I only have a handful. Growing is another story. Growing grows in the mind, and gives challenges, makes you want to do better. It utilizes and enriches the mind and the connection between the mind and the world. Learning is indeed something to get off on, once you notice the mind-expansion coming with it. It feels as though your mind becomes like mycelium, craving to understand/consume more, so it can be used at a later date. Reminds me of that movie, Transcendent.

Not cool, sorry to hear . Feel proud you're mature and responsible enough not to trip when things aren't all peachy. I know a few people who dive into any drug they can find even after having a horrid time or event happen. Then they wonder why things spiral out.

To be honest I'm cultivating to learn as well. My immediate end goal is to have enough for a few solid trips, one heroic, and then enough to make a few months worth of microdose caps. Extra will go to good friends if they are willing. No sales for now. I don't think that's too much to ask. Hell, I might reconsider after the first trip on my own supply.

I'll still cult because I have never had this much fun with a hobby. When I do agar, its like my inner kid , who wanted to become a scientist, is fucking giggling constantly

thanks for the kind words my friends, rated both of yall

I'd be dead as funk if I did the whatever I could get my hands on thing hahaha.... I'm too good at getting my hands on good drugs haha...

as far as selling, I've never sold ANY drug to ANYONE.

never trusted anyone enough to let my ass become their get outta jail free card. I wouldn't grow unless I was certain that no one knew about it, and always give away fruits I "got from a cool ass friend" lol

I have never and will never sell any drug. I buy drugs lol

My first trip on shrooms I grew was cool, the mushrooms told me to get some agar and continue to learn this hobby...BTW those shrooms were better than any I had gotten from friends...so I listened to the mushrooms and here I am a year later

another example of someone who was told by mushrooms to start growing. I'm convinced it's their way of preservation of species and altering the world to a better state.

I have dreams of bulk growing and seeding the local areas with spores, and spiking the local water supply with gallons of extract

Either this whole "the mushrooms told me to xyz" thing is a meme or Im not listening hard enough. I do have nightmares of spores getting all over my sub though, woke up in a cold sweat just last night to check on my tub.
