Well I took 4 clones last night. The mushies bruise a nice blue. Got something like 15 caps attempting to print. Timing was better on some and not so good on others for spores, I think. She used up more water from the sub than any culture I have grown yet. Giving her a bit of a soak for an hour, then drain for flush 2. If all goes well the wife and I will sample some Saturday night.

So my first flush will prob be ready to harvest in the next couple days, this is the first tray I've done with coir. How long is it recommended to soak the sub and drain before the second flush? Is a 24 hour soak ok like you do with cakes or is it different?

I installed a drain plug. I give a 72qt tub, half a gallon of water and drain the excess after 24 hours.
You're fruiting a tray, so you won't need half a gallon.

Some g2g from an agar master started on 7/5 took like 18 days to colonize with a shake at 12 days I believe. First pic are unshaken and the next six were shaken. I guess I didnt shake the last jar very well cuz its colonizing from the bottom haha

This is what the tubs I've spawned this week have been coming from, all look pretty identical. Including those g2g jars I got like 15-16qts of Lucy and I imagine by the end of August my run with her will be over, after stockin up on prints of course

18 days to colonize after g2g? how many receiving jars per master? generally it should take 5-7 days to fully colonize after a g2g.is that millet? that millet looks nice in the pictures.

..scratch that, you shook after 12 days. nevermind.

too fucking tired tonight.

i always shake around day 3-4 and get 100% in quarts at day 5-7. any reason you waited til day 12? or just busy?

i know how that is.

I didn't word it properly at first, I put a wedge of agar to a master jar of millet and that jar took like 12 days to get about halfway and then I shook it and it took another 6 to finish off, total 18 days. A day later I g2g'd to 9 more qt's of millet. That was two days ago. These jars are now.

Like you said, I imagine I will be shaking some at the 3-4 day mark and they all look like they should be ready within a week. I thought LC was fast but proper g2g is king

ah that makes sense then germs.

in terms of g2g. i love it. dont' get me wrong. was doing it for years and years. when you start doing 20 plus jars of grain. shaking that many becomes a blast on the forearms. that is one reason i prefer LI over g2g. i don't have to shake anything after the initial inoculation.

you can keep a grain jar to g2g after the 1st round. but these days i start from a plate and just do 20 quarts per plate. keeping everything very fresh. if i want to speed things up ill go 10 quarts to 1 plate. the last round of AA+ batch grows i did were 80 plus quarts. thats alot of shaking. that would take up to 1 hour or more for that many jars of shaking properly after g2g. im usually dripping sweat after i shake 25 quarts.

doing LI. i didn't shake once after the initial inoculation!

kenetic. you do only millet? do you find that to take longer than regular wbs with all the different seeds in it? ive always done wbs with a big mix of grains in it. even corn. it colonizes faster than oats.

Yep! We have germination. Excited to do a proper grow with these, this is the only Cubensis culture I have going right now so I'll be able to give it the attention it deserves

Well, time to start harvesting tonight when I get home, not sure if I'll even take prints from this first batch since it didn't throw any Lucy's out but oh well, I still have the excitement and anticipation of seeing my next batches come out Leucistic, figured I'd still post the porn and get back to work on my agar and master print so I can post my first Lucy pics soon, 4 more batches going so time will tell

Scored me some nice prints off my 1st Lucy tub as well as 4 clones, which I hope do well.

HAM, thanks very much for these genetics, I am rather happy with what I have seen so far, my 2nd shoebox is pinning now.

I haven't tried wbs since I first started, but I remember it was ok minus having to rinse and stuff.

I use white millet only now, with the exception of when I started my lgt grow and used a wheat grain I had laying around.  I love millet!  It's cheap, doesn't need rinsed, boiled or steam dried, hardly any endospores compared to rye and especially oats, colonizes fast, easy to break up (don't have to shake at all, I just dig it out with a gloved hand lol) and colonizes fast enough.  Rye colonizes a few days faster but if you time your grows right you won't be in a hurry, and the endospores never seem to die in rye and wheat grains so the few extra days are not worth it imo.

Love it, will never use anything else unless I am forced to.

That's quite the endorsement. I use popcorn for convenience purposes, seemed to have the same general results with rye berries(contams, colonization rate, etc) but in my area they're a little harder to find. Walmart's website says they stock certain things in store, like rye berries, but usually don't in my town(small town laziness, I suppose).  I tend to make all of my purchases in store with cash, my address is odd and confuses gps systems, so it's not easy to get things delivered here. Would normal grocery stores carry millet, or would I need to seek out a health-food store or some such?

I would definitely find something other than popcorn to use

Health food stores often have Rye/Wheat berries, but unless they have them in bulk it won't be cheap. I buy organic rye berries from mine for a little over a dollar a pound. Not great but

Do you have garden/hardware stores? Use Wild Bird Seed, its good to use as spawn and cheap

:picdidnthappen:

i got another invitro pin. bacterial oats are way less forgiving than bacterial birdseed.

maybe i should be more careful with my grain prep and shit. every thing i try to fruit goes south(oats)

that grayish patch center right turned green. just bacterial spawn and vermiculite. mega fail.
i do have 2 really clean quarts of lucy. one will be g2g into 6qts of oats in a bag:thumbup:

might g2g the second jar but id really like some fuckin fruits.
can only get agar pins and invitros right now.:facepalm3:
