Some bacteria does intertwine and live in with the mycelium, it is a BIG bitch to even see. I struggled with it for months. I showed pics here and people would tell me it was fine and good to go.

Nice kenetic! Man I dropped my phone underwater. And it didn't even skip a beat. These cheap 50$ phones are made to last.
What did you do case the grain directly?

I had a little grain left from a g2g transfer session and I just mixed with some cvg I had on hand. I've never had good luck with cased grains unfortunately.
I have another jar like this too

I used to case grains in 96-97. Had good luck with it. But moved onto dung/straw.

I have had rather good luck, as an alternative, with casing bacterial grains. I do it in trays or now shoeboxes. The bacterial cultures can recover much fast when they do not have to grow through the substrate. This is ONLY an alternative to tossing them. It does not guarantee anything. I just have been able to get some decent flushes out of bad grains without loosing them before 1st flush.

Man I can't wait, for anyone with experience are these generally in the average potency range for cubes? Edit: just thought about it and realized it's prob a function of specific genetics of sub-strains

It's like this thing has stalled, the growth is extremely slow. Nothing like my last culture. Genetics, or conditions?

Unless the amount of air movement is matched with the correct relative humidity, and substrate surface moisture content, yes, too much air will dry out your substrate, and cause bruising. Otherwise, we would be able to blow fans directly onto the substrate instead of creating a passive air flow. RH, substrate surface moisture, and fresh air exchange need to be balanced correctly in order to work in unison.

Ham do you have any recommendations for what the RH should be in the room we keep the tubs in? Like a range that makes it easier to care for the tubs.

With ohmatic monotubs 70%, adjust poly fill accordingly. At 85-99%RH you can take the poly fill out of the holes, and remove the lids.
