That's super cool mush! I've dropped my wedge in the wrong spot and moved it to the middle before and ended up with some cool growth where the wedge fell. Good to know that you don't even really need to cut!

Not to sound douchy but isnt mush cult in general a topic for every thread?
I also dont quite see how if morelman's jar #2 goes south that would somehow imply that spores that take a day longer to show germination means trouble ahead? grow pics cant speak for themselves on these kinda topics IMO, there's more at play here than just germination speed.

Still really cool man. I dropped a bunch of wedges in my sab floor last time I innoced grains cuz of my shaky ass hands. Ended up having to take a different transfer and it wasn't what I wanted. Now those jars are just crawling along, taking forever to colonized. Afraid I took some bacterial transfers. Gonna end up spawning it in minis or trays since I have no shoeboxs yet or money to get them.

I only said it was suspect. Ie; out of the ordinary. Now, an observation has been made by another member that lends credence to that suspicion. Nothing more. The jar in question has outpaced the other three in colonization speed. Time will reveal all. Be patient...

Expanded 1 plate to 10 2 days ago. All have very nice growth. This was T5 and some are starting to show some slight varying sectors. Before it was all just fairly uniform and packed full of competing strains. Would be nice to start to see some different growth patterns. These are looking very nice. The jars I knocked up 2 days ago are showing some nice growth.

We're in the grip of a heatwave. The ac has been running daily and is turned off at night. Not so coincidently, condensation levels drop overnight. I have now sequestered my spawn in the hope of providing a buffer against these temperature swings.

Time to shake or should I give a bit more time? They both have about the same amount of mycelium on all sides.

My first attempt at birdseed so they have some burst grains for sure and I don't think I got the moisture content quite right but the mycelium that's there looks quite healthy and no strange colors or smells or anything yet so fingers crossed I guess ha

Well I shook the first jar and I'll let the second jar go further towards 50% I'm not too confident about that first jar because it's had some condensation and no growth towards the bottom where the second jar seems to have a much more uniform moisture content, no condensation and growth already crawling across the bottom

Is this looking like what some describe as being more "organized" or sectored?

I see lots of air bubbles! Maybe you poured your agar too hot?
Anyway, looks good, but a little weak. I don't really see any sectoring yet.

Thanks, ya I'm very new to agar and grain and anything beside PF really so I'm trying to progress, so pouring the agar after it's cooled a bit more might help those bubbles? Thanks

What temperature do you pour your agar?
