Not sure what to think of this one. Colonized in two weeks. Shook 5 days ago, recovered well in the first 48 hours. Probably spawn solo to a shoebox

Watch that 3rd jar morelman there's allot of condensation on it. Could be something unwanted.

Thanks, bro.

I've had Lucy#2 on my suspect list ever since it took an extra day to germinate.

Ahhh... I see how it's going to be. Let me illuminate it for you fellas.
With the design of my GLI master jars, the spore solution goes straight to the bottom. Each jar was inoculated with exactly 1/2ml. All were kept in the same environment. All things being equal, I checked the bottoms EVERY day with a high lumen led penlight; watching for anything out of the ordinary. I believe it was on the fourth day that I noticed that all but the jar in question had germinated spores. It wasn't until 24 hours later that the last jar showed germination. Do you think it is a coincidence that someone also suspects this jar, at this stage, from a photo? I think not. My math is correct. Enjoy my results.

I don't think germination time is indicative of any bacterial contamination. You could have 3 agar plates inoculated with spores and all could germinate at different times, even if the environment variables are the exact same. It's impossible to quantify the exact time it takes, seeing as it is non-deterministic and depending on variables that are outside of our control.

These kind of statements aren't helping anything. It's kind of like the pot calling the kettle black. I am in no way, shape, or form perfect by any means. Only calling it how I see it. I don't think he's trolling either. No one trolls this hard against them selves. I think he's genuine.
Twostrokejoke, thank you for respectfully putting forth an opposing point of view. That's the way it should be, imo. Personally, I like MorelMan's methodology, and want to see him succeed with his methods. If he doesn't, then we have something to talk about, but we don't have to do it negatively. More people learn better in a positive environment.

and you're right. shooting 1/2mL spore solution into a grain jar is asking for problems, especially if you're gonna use that jar to make GLC. one jar taking an extra day to show germination is no indication of any bacteria or other problems.

im sorry.
shoebox coming along nicely.
 bottom

this jar i might toss. i dunno. i doubt it will colonize that last area of wet ass poorly prepped grains.
 but we shall see
this is kinda cool.

i took my blade and just touched the outside of the tissue. no cutting into the master culture. and i just stuck the blade into a blank 'test' plate of malt agar. we have growth! more GTL on the way.
