You all go ahead, I'll catch up later. I removed all my vectors except for the sporeprint itself.
That being said, keep an eye/nose out for Acetobacter and/or Lactobacillus in your spawn or cultures.
I have healthy spawn of Golden Halo that's taking center stage at the moment. When I free up some space I'll give Lucy another shot.

If you really wanna learn its not that hard, its way easier to tell before the jar is overgrown tho, at least through pics. shake that jar and see what the recovery looks like, snap a pic and there's plenty of people here willing to help out.

It was already shaken at 45%. The pic was full colonization after recovery.

I understand, what I'm trying to say is that its easier to spot bacteria before the jar is fully colonized.

thats not a shake test. the substrate needs to be colonized first. otherwise its not recovering. its colonizing.
take a better pic of your halo jar. it does seem kinda fluffy.

It's already been aspirated to syringes. It passed the cubensis smell test afterwards. My Lucy jar smelled "off" in contrast. I attributed it to being a trait of leucistic varieties. Anyway... Four quarts of sterilized grain are being inoculated with golden halo tomorrow. Time will tell.

Well lactobacillus is anaerobic so it won't be growing in your grain jars unless it's an encapsulated strain then your jars will be pretty milky

Yes, it was an encapsulated strain (gram positive). It has to be since it survived gentamicin sulfate. GS is only effective against gram negative bacteria.

Here's a little update with some close-ups so you can judge for yourself. Time to shake!

that's a great pic, very detailed and what you see is perfect healthy myc. Look at the leading edge on the top half there, how its 1 organised organism growing out those tiny strands that together make up small sectors.
compare it with the bags morelman posted a week back or when it was, the myc was all balled up in a clump, looking like melted ice cream where there should be nice fan-like leading edges.

All lactobacillus is gram positive not all are encapsulated. I've never seem lactobacillus growing on aerobic grains
