what if the syringe itself is not clean? what if your water is contaminated? also as ham pointed out.. LC is a skill.
that learning curve is a vector.. and the grains. vectors are fucking everywhere. the grower being #1

yeah those quotes are bullshit, proof is in the pudding, if autoclaving/PC'ing grains would kill all endospores you wouldn't see bacteria grow on agar after putting an uncolonized yet sterilized grain on a plate.
If you need your friend hamloaf to confirm before you believe any new info, I'm pretty damn sure he can second (third) this. PC'ing grains does not kill endospores.

He was trying to divert atty away from Himself, because he mistook a comment about grower being no. 1 vector. Almost worked!

Dude let this guy grow the way he wants, geez!
It's not making a difference in your life if this guy wants to put spores to grains. He seems happy with his methods and it's not like he's here looking for a mentee to teach People come here to talk about their grows and shoot the shit, let the guy grow how ever he feels and enjoy the forum.
If he was a noob that would be different, or if he was telling noobs to do as he does it would be different. But he's not and he isn't so

he can grow however he wants of course, and I'm not commenting on putting spores to grains I'm simply clarifying for anyone that might be reading that GLC has a huge vector for contams and its the grains.
I might have done a poor job choosing my words correctly but I dont see myself coming off as telling morel how he should or shouldn't be growing? Rather than just commenting on the fact that GLC does have a huge backdraw whether he wants to admit it or not..

Nah man I wasn't specifically referring to you!
There are, on the other hand, quite a few peeps in here who like to ping the shroomery hive mind and jump on the bandwagon, ya know?
I agree that GLC is probably the worst way to expand a culture, but if it works for him and he doesn't mind then that's cool

yeah obviously it's cool he's growing mushrooms and not mold, I wish that for all of us here that's why I'm pointing out GLC does have some major flaws and contam vectors. If he never said they didn't, I wouldn't have any reason to comment on it.

I can confirm that LI derived from grains will contaminate with bacteria after several months of anaerobic storage. But we're talking about an expected lifetime of 1 week here, so what's the problem? We all test liquids on agar every single time.

My li took a month. I just checked it, black mold. All along the edges. And that was boiled and sealed.

the endospores in the grains. we're not talking about storing LI, but how GLC is made.

Yes, my point was that LC/GLC/RGLC cycle weekly, which is too fast for me to worry about endospores. So far I've traced all problems to specific mistakes such as faulty lids and incomplete sterilization times.
Anyway, I just remembered that I've kept a culture syringe of unknown composition for a long time (over a month). My friend wrote a date on the syringe so I have no excuses. Peace out.
