it's hard to see because there's too much agar, the angle is weird.
pc'd 30 minutes.
I switched to pyrex after my glass petri exploded for some reason.

Alright so none of the cubensis transfers to agar with Malt Extract worked, save for one where the growth is really really slow. the oyster mushroom spawn (single grain) I dropped in there without incident or contamination - and they seem to be doing fine - unless they aren't supposed to exhibit aerial mycl.
soooo here's the extract I'm working with - would the Mandarin orange flavour be screwing everything up for me?
I used 10 g/10g/500ml agar, malt and water solution. Simmer and mix for about 15 minutes. pour into pyrex jars with poly or micropore tape for gas exchange, PC for 20 minutes so as not to cook the shit out of it. Wait for PC to cool completely, move pyrex jars to sit in SAB. Sit and wait to fail.
Any ideas?

^ why i use pyrex. shattered BY THEMSELVES. NO idea how this happened aside from maybe the heat created from the myc growing on the plate?

Maybe try skipping the honey and going straight malt extract? This is a ME plate. I've had good luck with ME.

Check some home brew sites. They all sell malt extract powder. Get the light extract.

Here are the results with oyster mushroom spawn. i guess this demonstrates that the still air box works?

I love agar. i've melted the fuck out of some cheap plastic lids masquerading as heat resistant. The pyrex ones work find so long as they don't touch the metal.
I've just done some plates with coffee and agar for p.cubensis and oyster, hopefully that promotes better growth while I wait for the malt extract to arrive.
