We finally have a spare room in the house and we would like to use it for mushrooms. I would like to know how to set up a full room to do so ? I am getting an air purifier but also i would like to get a filter for the whole room, but idk how to go about that or whats a good filter to get from a good site online. Any help would be appreciated.

what bodhisatta said. easier to do passive automation for same results
automation is most useful in combination with isolates for getting good data points in research, which is way past what most people want to do (grow bulk)
but if you want to do it, here is my favorite, from one of my favorite members (RIP, hope he is alright):

Exhaust port in side bottom (with poly stuffed to keep insects out. Intake of fresh, hepa filtered air coming from outside. Water fed humidifier. Plexiglass ceiling and doors. Lights above. Timer for lights. Cycle timer for air intake. Cycle timer for humidity.

he actually did all kinds of cool shit with this, aside from what's in the thread

Nothing wrong with a nice clean fancy room but we use nice clean tubs. If your fruiting chamber is a room that's different

I would just invest in a few metal shelves for jars/tubs/etc and install 6500k cfl's in the ceiling

Thats hella nice!! am i good to use a true hepa air purifier in the room ? The main reason for this whole dedicated room is to help sanitation and reduce contams since we now have 4 animals in the house now and a spare room. We were doing good then all of a sudden been having bad luck so maybe this would help along with the sterile procedures. I really miss my nice monos and minis. And this is the only room where no one else goes but us and no animals. So why not.

azure told me one of the keys to his setup was using outside air, which really makes a TON of sense
he was pumping air in from outdoors... im definitely gonna incorporate this in the fruiting room im building
mine is just gonna be a climate controlled room with 3 marthas and a bulk humidifier, etc, since im kinda backing off bulk for a while and focusing on exotic and experimental stuff

I would for sure look into that and try it out with this setup possibly or run it in an alternate setup

also, this is how simple it is to do passive automation:
Quote:
a room full of monotubs with a Dr Heater set to 72 degrees, a 12 hr timer on the lights, a timer set up on a fan in the corner, and a humidifier keeping the room humidity from getting too low.
with a standard monotub, you wont have to touch it again till harvest
with lid off or no holes monotubs, just mist as needed
beyond that, just gets more complicated, without much additional benefit unless you are doing research or something
if you have the space, set up a fruiting room and a lab room. no need for an incubator room unless temps are way unstable

Like others have said, you probably don't need to do anything to a room. But if you want to get fancy, rip out any carpet. You could toss a martha in there if you feel like going that route.
