Fruit Drying Issues
    #24248734 - 04/16/17 10:33 AM (7 years, 8 months ago)

So first I air dried for 48 hours with fans then made a damp rid container to finish the fruits off and get them cracker dry. For some reason I can't get the damp rid chamber to seal right (I wrapped that motherfucker in so much duct tape and plastic wrap) and the fruits go in practically dry and after 24hrs are damp again.

I have repeated this cycle twice now before I decided bite the bullet (low on funds) and go out and buy a dehydrator. My question is because they have essentially dried to 85% twice and have been "rehydrated" twice, will there be any effect on potency? They are smaller fruits, I have them in the dehydrator now so they hopefully will be cracker dry in 4-6 hours.

Thanks and Happy Easter Y'all!

Yeah it will affect potency.. How much tho.. that depends on you eating them to find out.

Also good job on purchasing the dehydrator. you will never look back

Yeah pretty stoked about the dehydrator. Going to make life a lot easier.

As for trying them, I've been munching on fresh fruits the past few days so I won't be the best to try them out once they're dry haha. But when they're fresh it's rocking my socks off so hopefully it doesnt decrease by too much!

is a falsehood or whatever its called. doing THAT will not get you cracker dry mushrooms. it just wont.

its like saying ..'im going to leave this milk out in the sun and it should make cheese right?'

5+ shrooms for buying the dehydrator.
:highfive:

Speaking of dehydrators I just grabbed one off CL for $30...  It's a Nesco FD-75PR.  Is that a good one?  It has a bunch of temp settings, what should I set it to?

TO THE MAX!

Can't wait to give it a run.  It looks like a fairly good dehydrator for the money, although I have literally nothing besides Amazon reviews to base that opinion on.

final result from the first flush of the first of three 51qt monotubs = 81g dry. was shooting for 5 ounces but this was my first attempt ever at growing so I'd say that was pretty swell. learned a few things to tweak for the next go around. still have 1 tub drying and the 3rd tub just started to fruit.

Yep I have this one and it's great. The max setting is 160 and that is what you will use. You can get more trays to expand its capacity.
