Tub, first flush flush done . what next?
    #24247628 - 04/15/17 10:15 PM (7 years, 8 months ago)

What do I do?
Close it up like it's new spawn?
How do I flush again?
It's nice and fresh, all blue and stumpy.
I'm thinking just close it and limit Fae for a few days, then induce fruiting?

:no clue:

just keep fruiting it

give it a good spraying if it seems to have lost a lot of water in the first flush

When u guys mention misting, only mist the sides right? Never directly on the spawn/sub?

Mist the sub directly. So the mist falls onto the sub. The falling water will create beads of moisture.

Be suspicious of information that is more than a few years old, and/or comes from a source other than this forum. Indirect misting is ancient misinformation; misting plastic is not very useful. Listen to the post above me.

Depens on how much water the sub lost during the first flush, if it wasn't a huge flush a heavy misting should be enough, followed by more heavy mistings once or twice a day for 2 or 3 days. Or maybe it won't need heavy mistings at all, you gotta learn to be the judge.

If the sub lost lots of water or you made the sub on the dry side of field capacity, then maybe a dunk would be needed. Remember the trick I told you to harvest? The tub in tub flip thing? Do the same to remove the water from the dunk, it wiil prevent the sub from breaking  accidentally when you take the water out  You can also flip the sub after the first harvest, so the bottom will be the surface now.

Ah OK. I'll flip it.
I was thinking limit Fae again and go back to colonize conditions. But that's not necessary I guess. It's just a bunch of blue stumps right now. No room to fruit yet until those Go back to myc.
I harvested bodhis method of cutting. I also pinched.
Anyway, it was a little dry, I've been misting. I see no pins, but there's still a lot of healthy sub left, and it's not dry.

So the consensus is just keep it on fruiting conditions?

I have my first sub, I decided to flip it and keep spraying daily. It Looked dead And just spent. Well,  I have six giant ass shrooms. Fourth flush. All on the edges. They are bigger than the mini tub now lol. I'll grab a pick after church.

Wait cant you dunk the sub after flushes? Ive heard it pushes out double the yeild weight and size of the fruits than just spraying it . . . ?

it looks quite dry, definitely wanna mist the hell out of it, then run a fan to speed up evaporation and repeat till it gets back to field capacity

that could also be why you are getting fruits only at the edges. some people think this is because of light (and that could be a factor, possibly) but what is definitely a factor is your surface microclimate

a casing can help maintain this microclimate evenly, if it has enough water in it, and conditions facilitate evaporation

a lot of the time, people get side pins/fruits only, because their sub shrunk a bit and the space between the sub and the walls created a sufficient microclimate for pinning, where (for whatever reason) the main surface did not

So what I did this last time and it seemed to work.  I picked the sub clean except for some aborts

Then I misted well.  I was home all day.  I misted so that it beaded up on the high spots and puddled where the sub was damaged. Waited. Watched the sub slowly drink it over the course of an hour or so.  Repeated mist pattern until the puddling stayed over the hour.  Soaked it up with paper towel and put back to fruiting and light misting as needed.  It seems to be working well.
