Yellow Discolororation when consolidating

I didnt find anythng on this and wanted to ask if anyone has an answer to this? RR says the yellow stuff is mycelium defending against bacteria or such. Why then is my fully colonized cake now, in its consolidation phase suddenly defending itself against bacteria, if it looked all good before? Usually bacteria etc spread faster and should make themselves known earlier than after the mycelium has already colonized the whole jar right?

Too wet possibly. Try to fruit anyway and see what you get. Maybe give it a drop of h2o2 in a soak and then let dry out decently.

Peroxide often helps contamination out since it frys mycelium and it can't do its job

Seriously, fuck peroxide. It does nothing against anything besides cobweb, and ruins your substrate, and yet every other day someone is peroxiding their substrate. When will it end?

Actually I'm now realizing that the yellow spots where the beginnings of pins. At least some pins have shown themselves now and I suspect I mixed those two things up: primordia and metabolites.

Ok Ihere we go a picture, see the somewhat darker almost skin colored spots? I took those for yellow myc fighting contam, but now I am pretty sure its the beginning of pins pressed up to the glass at the time.

They were just regular ass light-brownish pins, nothing special, I forgot to take a pic where you could see them. But again I just thought that since pins are roughly skin colored such a spot on the myc might be the beginning of a pin. I agree though that its prob bacteria, after a warm day it smelled a little sour, not just fresh mushroomy, but still fine so far. Btw did you guys find the picture of the cake pretty as well? I dont know, maybe its the close up or the detail but all those rhyzomorphic strands etc are kinda sexy to me ^^
