I have some good news and some bad news. First, the bad news is for some reason every single fruit in my ovoid pot turned up sterile. I checked every single one and even attempted to print ~50 caps that looked like I could get a print out of them. After days of sitting on foil not even a hint of spores. Buuuuuuuuuut, the good news is I happened to have dumped spawn over my balcony back when I was making the pot and today while I was checking out my second flush, I noticed a small patch of ovoids growing in the corner up against the building. Upon inspection it definitely looks like they will print so I have about 25-30 going right now. And the fruits in the patch looked pretty big.
Anyways, here is an update on my ovoid pot. About two weeks ago I pulled the trigger and clipped the first flush. Here is a pic of the pot before clipping bar a small patch towards the bottom:

By far the most dense clusters I have seen with my own eyes. Check it out:

An after pic of the pot:

First flush yield:

Example of the sterile fruits:

I know the gills have a purple hue to them but I printed the caps for 3 days with no results. I even used some sterilized Q-tips to swab the gills and I kept around 20 of them but there's not trace of purple spores. The result of swabbing the fruits was blue stained Q-tips. Anyways, let me know what you guys think!

Those are chunky, thick, and gorgeous. What does it mean if they're sterile? They don't drop spores? Would the mycelium still produce fruits?

Sterile mean they don't produce spores. Idk why they came out like that. Maybe it was the substrate. Maybe it was genetics. Maybe it was both. The wild patch of ovoids look like they are producing spore though so it must be the substrate

Luck of the draw.
I have seen quite a few sterile mushrooms. Panalaelous seem to be sterile more often than other shrooms.
I've seen sterile Allenii. And sterile whatever the fuck that mushroom was too :P

I'd still swab a plate with one just to see. Why not?
You could clone them too.
