cultivation / fruiting options for first grow

i have bought a growing kit containing 2 grow tubs with bag /tub and vermiculite for fruiting and spores from seperate place, all was going well till one became contaminated but the other is thriving pics may pop up soon, 2-3 weeks in but not showing 100% coverage yet and i hope this cake continues on and has not ceased growth
i was hoping to take from it and grow more and in prep bought most of what i need except a pressure cooker
now im wondering what to use for fruiting, do i set up the big chamber for a single cake or use the provided tub perlite and bag method...they actually provided vericualite for this but i used that elswhere and read perlite was a much better substrate, i also have a small heat mat on the way for the chamber and intened to use with a timer to regulate it
im in uk so temps aren't great at the moment but have a warm spot above snake cage...

Never ever use a heat mat if you want to grow mushrooms

ok noted, ive read a lot of differeing opinions though looking that up and some from here, i hadn't planned using it in the tub or in direct contact with it, though i would of apreciated some advice as to what to do with my single cake, perhaps i'll use what they rovided and see how it goes and make spore prints later if im successful

You will only get one opinion on here mate. No heat mats they are not necessary and cause more problems. Fruit your single cake in a cut open bottle with lots of holes in it like a mini sgfc. Also im in UK and its fucking hot for this time of year man.

ok noted again and marked under do not do this ever!!!!
thanks for the advice bud i will see how it does then post some pics if i get fruit bodies, should i use some perlite in this bottom of the bottle, ive alos been giving the cake exposure to light near a bright window buy not getting any direct sunlight at all, thinking this place might be good for fruiting, i dont havea ny heating except a oil heater so my lounge is the warmest room where i have my snake so perhaps there might be ok tooand expose it to light in stages

hey so ive looked into more depth the sgfc and googled individual fruiting chamber and have a bottle ready with about 16 or so 1/8 inch holes though im a few weeks from fruiting i think fingers crossed, some pics i took compared to 10 days ago show growth where as to my eyes i had not completely noticed any growth on the side that is not as colonized as much as the oposite side whicih is more or less fully colonized and dont see any signs of contamination.
my bottle is an elongated 1.5l water bottle made combining two of the same type and has enough height to allow good growth and hope the holes allow good fae / ge some are at the bottom where there will be perlite, i have a humidity temp gague i can drop in too as its got a small cord running from it
ps, perhaps is because of the lack of central heating in my flat but it is anything but fucking hot, mildy warm at best.
