Is this yellow contam....or not?

Good morning sunshine!
Newb here who started growing these beautiful little manna fruits about 2 months ago with success on brf cakes.
So I ventured off into mini tubs...one of these tubs has this:

I Spawned on barley and transferred to the tubs in a perlite/cococoir/bee pollen substrate....I have two other tubs that are fruiting and do not have the yellow. Tub still smells deliciously Shroomy.
Is this yellow from the pollen or barley or is it time to quarantine and destroy?
Thanks!

I think you might be having a contam, but I wouldn't go the destroy route just yet. Quarantine if you have other projects can be good, and keep an eye on the progress..
You seem to have a lot of side pinning going on btw. Keep your surface glistening, can't tell from the pic if it is or not. For now, it looks as though you will still have a nice harvest. Good luck!

I'm much obliged
Setting this one off to the side and won't write it off yet
When I lined the tubs I didn't know the mycelium would overtake the liner and push it out of the way...I may just spray paint the external surfaces or use different containers next time! The continued pinning on the side where the yellow is that stopped me from chunking this one in the "fuck it" bucket immediately.
I'll keep spraying and fanning the evenings away!
Thanks for the advice Sometimes all we need is encouragement and someone to validate our initial instincts. I'll update when I see substantial movement (in either direction)!

Thank you for using a more, appropriate term than myc piss...I understand the term metabolites and what that means...I had no clue what myc piss meant...wondering if it was some phenomenon of the 5th kingdom I was unaware of yet....
Thank you for the clarification on pooling - bad / glisten - good. I understand 90% humidity but water management details are clearly important.
It appears to be, if not improving, at least not progressing ...

What I find really interesting between these the boxes is that, all grain was inoculated at the same time/allowed to consolidate/substrate sterilized and mixed at the same time/provided the same growth environment...but the three boxes have seemingly staged themselves in growth to give me a continuous flush over time as opposed to all 3 maturing simultaneously....without any external influence that I am aware of...
So glad I didn't go straight to the fuck it bucket but I will continue to monitor....

Btw, I think vermiculite would be a better admixture than perlite. Perlite keeps airy, vermiculite stores water. The airyness comes from not packing down the substrate anyways.

Oh my...I erroneously said perlite when I initiated this thread...but used verm in these boxes. I have (3) 4cuft bags of coarse verm and happily use it any chance I can get. The white in the pics is knotting.
Don't pack down substrate little nuggets of wisdom, thank you!

Here's a nugget that others may find useful....dialed in my tub holes with Oppsite Flex...it can be had on amazon $15 for a 2"x10.9yards... basically a waterproof wound barrier that breaths but also offers anti microbial protection...it's probably a tad more durable than microspore tape...

actually, you're better off with light polyfill puffballs. I suspect that that tape can restrict air flow a bit much, and polyfill keeps the contams at bay just as good. And it's probably cheaper too. The more the air can flow, the better. As long as you can keep the humidity up, that is.

Actually this is wrong micropore is good and if pasty uses it id say its good. Pollyfill is annoying. I dont know about the tape OP posted but worth a looking into maybe a good alternative once further research has been carried out.</font>

I'm not saying it won't work, but as far as FAE goes, in my experience polyfill is superior, and easier to tweak with.

I just did a grow using micropore tape following pasteys method. It works great and all I will ever use now

Come to think of it, the only time I used micropore tape on tubs was before I really understood what I was trying to accomplish and how to read my subs. I doubled it up for a good contam barrier too, and there's a good chance my holes weren't even big enough. Polyfill probably wouldn't have done very well in that fashion either... Up for a retry!

Yeah man just follow his method with hole size and using 3 strips on the bottom holes and 2 on top.
