One of the biggest tips I can give you is to ditch cakes and PK Tek, move on to bulk after REALLY researching about monotubs and bulk growing.

Just throw some clean spawn in a tub with a lid and some coir. Wait a. Could days, fruit. Not much research required. Just get a 56q or bigger. It's a shit load easier than pftek

If anybody was interested in how it turns out, i put it in a proper terrarium and theres ACTUAL pins on it this time; big clusters of white growth coming out with gold tips. the digital hygrometer reads 90 or 91 no matter what i did so I assume its just a shitty hygrometer.
also inoculated 4 Pint jars with mexicana A spores, 2 got 1 cc, 2 got 1.5. soaked rgs in coffee and water, then drained it off and pced. a couple of them have some moisture buildup on the bottom, I would shake it to distribute the moisture, but I used polyfill so I'm just hoping for the best. Would it be too much of a risk to sterilize some vermiculite and put it in those two jars? or Is some excess moisture fine?

I already know, I will NEVER do the PF tek again. the only thing I could say was good about it was being interesting, but it's been disappointing, especially once I ended up with one cake left and searched "average yield for BRF cake"
I'm hoping that these G2G jars come through, I used a very small chunk of myc for each jar, because Im trying not to fruit them for about a month, until I move into a new place first. from all I've seen G2G can be used with whatever amount of myc, just the more the faster colonization time. just worried about the bacterial infection that might've ben brought with that myc.
In the meantime I'm just doing sclerotia for simplicity, and If I messed up this round, I have another 5 ccs in the syringe.

And before anyone says it; yes I understand a lot of my failure with the pf tek were due to my own mistakes, but even if it as done perfectly yields would've still been disappointing, and I've read through a book AFOAF (literally) gave me, he's this 55 year old hippie who used to grow them off rye in the 90s. Thats how he paid for his tickets to dead shows he said lol. But that book makes bulk growing honestly seems much more straightforward, at least once you've gotten it growing in the jar. preparation seems like the most difficult part.

On 3 of the 4 g2g jars Im seeing some undeniable rhizomorphic looking growth down in the crevices of the surface wbs, hopefully the myc didn't bring in the bacteria with it, If their is a contam though ill just put that outside.
the moisture in the bottom of the two sclerotia rgs jars is pretty sedentary, its just separate puddles of moisture that don't move when I tilt the jar. I heard its only enough to worry about if they're puddles big enough to move when you move the jar.
