Aluminium on jars

I get that putting aluminum foil on top of jars helps to keep your filter dry but I'm using polyfills I'm not really worried about keeping it dry as it dries out pretty quick. My question is would using aluminum foil on top of my jars still require me to wipe everything down with alcohol if I take it directly out of the pressure cooker and put it in front of my hood or even if it does require me to wipe everything down with alcohol does it reduce the number of contaminants spores that I'm trying to sanitize?

I never use foil anymore. Haven't had a contam issue doing g2g, and I do not wipe down anything with alcohol aside from the latex gloves.
Also I keep jars just chillin in the living room till the rest get finished or until i feel like doing g2g... may not be the best practice, but i never have any issues and have been doing this for awhile

I havent seen much difference between using foil and not but cant make an actual judgement since my results are skewed anyways.
Cellulose sfds I would use foil as the water exposure makes them deteriorate quicker but with poly I dont care.

I'd be more worried about water dripping down from the lid of the pc, saturating the polyfil, and then dripping into your jar.

My AA holds a vacuum so it would be sterile. Never had a water content issue

The water content is what I would be worried about more so than sterility, but if it works for you then it works for you

The foil is just to keep the condensation from raining down on the lids.
If you move your jars/bags directly from pressure cooker to Flow Hood, there is no reason to wipe them down, I don't.
I do wipe down grain masters for G2G, because they sit around to get colonized and get handled for shakes and whatnoy. Just a quick wiping off too get all the junk off, especially around the lid rims.
What I do to reduce the load on the grain masters, is move them into a dedicated tote with lid from the flow hood after inoculation. I've also started wrapping a full (wide) strip of parafilm around the lid and rim of the jars, right after inoculations in front of the FH, keeps the mouth of the jars pretty much sterile G2G transfers- especially the little rim under the lid. Cling wrap works fine too Then I just spray the rest of the jar W ISO, wipe em down and pull the parafilm off.
I give plates a quick wipe down before inoculations too

Well my AA has to sit on the floor next to my hood. Are you suggesting I can reach in and grab a few jars and quickly put them in front of my hokd without having to wipe them? Repeatedly even. God wouldnt that be a time saver.
