First time cloning! Pinset pic & question

So, I have finally took the plunge to start cloning! (I was scared to deal with agar for some reason)
First, I just want to thank everyone in the forums for help leading me up to this point. Thank you (:
~Teks in ALL tubs~ Damions 50/50 with gypsum Pastywhyte's Easy Micropore Dialed MonosLink
I am working with 3 different clones at the moment. The first monotub (clone 1) is in isolation due to trich, but did not have a really good pinset - so we'll just see what happens.
The second tub (clone 2) is doing excellent. I used 6 quarts of WBS spawn, and its the picture with the pinset
My third clone (clone 3) is currently still colonizing. I put 9 quart jars of WBS spawn in it... Yes 9. I know its wayyyy over board, but I am curious to see what happens (:
Question... Storage. I have already made slants w/ craft sticks using Centrifuge Tubes 50ml 30x115mm. I currently have them para filmed inside the fridge. How long would they stay viable for? Should I tighten the lid and take the para film off(mixed results when searched)? Are there any better ways to preserve clones/isolates?
Off topic. I am in need of a good pressure cooker (tired of doing 3 at a time). Anyplace I can get them cheap? As I have not been in the forums long enough to trade.
Clone 2 - Pinset

Clone 3 - Colonizing

With cubensis slants, I find you want to be re doing them every two years max. I've lost a few good cultures trying it after 3 years....but.....My ALT#7 culture, king oyster, tree oyster, shiitake all went 3 years untouched and awoke just fine on new plates.
Not sure why they last longer than cube myc, but they do. Hope that helps.
As for a good pressure cooker I bought a SEB pressure cooker(french made for the British Army) its a beast of a cooker and cost me £50 from an ex army store online sorry haven't been able to find link as it was years back. I did have to order the weight for it from Australia for about £15, but it was well worth it as it fits 5-6 quart jars or 2 big gusseted spawn bags in.
here she is on the right...

Have a hunt around UK army online shops, im sure you can still get them, they are indestructable.

So the plastic centrifuge tubes will last 2 years? Also do I tighten the lid once fully colonized?
Thanks mynakedrat!

No, don't tighten lids once fully once colonized,you want to back it off say half a turn, then apply your parafilm,I fold mine in half like RR, so some gas exchange can occur. I prefer 10-12mlml for slants, less air in there, plus saves space in your fridge. I keep all my slants in a tupperware container,lid on, and they always seem groovy and never go bad. Sorry forgot to say that's a wicked pinset, you know what your doing mate!
I've always used this tek https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12968316 from Mephisto, always done me proud it has.
I also half the food in the slant compared to a plate, as you just want them ticking over slowly not ,having a "feast" like on a plate.
I use for slants;
500ml = water 5g = whatever food be it LME, DFA,etc,etc 10g = agar.
Hope that helps.
Good luck

Thanks for this info man! Looks like I was doing it right aside from folding the parafilm part, and buying smaller slants. Are you using glass slants? What's the longest you have kept cube isolate/clone this way?

Just bought this presto 16 quart pressure cooker! I'm able to fit 7 wide mouth quart jars in it. Should be alot better then having to do 3 each time lol.

7 quart jars? That's pretty awesome actually . The Presto 23 fits 7 and then 3 laying down on top.
For the OP, if you aren't willing to lay down the bread for an AA (*very* nice PCs) then presto 23 is the way to go. You can find them for about 60$ online and they are the largest non AA PC you can get (mirro has a 23 qt too I think)
Also, very nice pinset!

Yea I believe the 16 and 23 quart are about the same width. I am unable to fit 3 on top though so different heights for sure. Could possibly fit some pint jars on top tho hmmmm... Craigslist purchase new in box
