Pioppino from spore print, just getting started.  My culture was tired and slow so I decided to try my hand at finding a good isolate.  I have four tubs, two 66 qt, two shoeboxes.  Two more isolates from the print in progress, will post them when they start pinning.

Oak HWFP supplemented 15%, sterilized.  Cased with pasteurized coir/peat/verm.  This is from spore print, first ever fruiting.  No FAE just yet, was hoping to see more pins before exposing to fruiting conditions.  It could certainly be better. Someone is sending me a sword belt culture and I'll get a full flush yet.

Not yet- has to be fully colonized and start consolidating. And as to what species I lost the paper with the name of it.

Panellus stipticus or a Mycena species? Might sound familiar..

Interested how they will work. Will you keep the mycelium in the jar or fruit them?

Yes it was Panellus stipticus! Thank you!

I'm going to keep some of them in the jar and give them to my best friend's kids- the other I'll G2G- plan on making some small diameter logs to hang from the ceiling.

Awesome! Hope you'll share more pics in the process! That species seems to do great in other pics I've seen.

I've got pins on my first two (blue) oyster mushroom bags. I've opened the tops up, but am unsure what to do with them now. I probably have to learn for myself the right balance between FAE and humidity, but if anyone could give any pointers I'd be really grateful thanks.

I can keep the oysters either inside or outside or in a polytunnel (temperate spring). I don't have an automatic fogger or mister but do have a manual misting bottle. I also have a SGFC, which I know won't provide enough FAE, but maybe I could run it with the top at 90 degrees.

I would turn the bags on their sides to allow the CO2 to leave the bag.  Right now it's just pooling around the block trapped by the bag walls.  You might need to prop up the bag so it remains open once you turn it.  If you live in a naturally humid area you might even get away with just leaving it exposed.  I find that works best when allowed to pin out in the open though.

Here is a gray oyster set that was sitting on the counter.  I am in the NE US so it's normally fairly humid weather.  With just spraying the bag and tray and the shrooms a few times a day they will do ok just sitting out like this.

The bag next to it is some brown oyster.  They are forming now..

King oysters are moving along very slowly, wondering if I should have thinned them. Experimentation!
