now what?
    #2422764 - 03/12/04 07:54 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Once a person has become enlightened and has become part of the light, is it ordinary to try keep that enlightened state always? What im saying here is that i try to tsay in that state of higher self or oneness with my Creator 24/7 and find it very hard at times. Its like where there was only pure thoughts and motives ,i feel sliping back into the mundane wordly way of things like thoughts that are not pure and i dont care feelings and the like. one love always :heartpump:

Nobody is perfect...well ok maybe except a certain model I lust over..but I digress..

Believe it or not, unperfection, negativity, and darkness benefits us, because we actually LEARN from it.

If everybody was always enlightened and pure 24/7....

..then we wouldn't need to be here.

yeah i hear what your saying, kinda like the darkness pushes us toward the light, but it is by our will if we choose to go or not....without faith we will all perish........

I think we just need to find a sense of balance we shouldnt try to stay in the light but neither should we be in the darkness. Because we may try to hard and never find peace.

If you try to grasp enlightenment, it will just slip through your fingers. Just let it be, and it will become you.

I think it was Gurdjieff who taught that the more one becomes enlightened, the harder it is for them to relate to and operate in the physical world. Staying in the light isn't easy, especially when we're programmed with instincts to go back into automaton mode whenever possible. It's like a thick muck that you have to stay on top of. If you don't keep struggling to stay aware of what's going on, you'll just sink back down.

And I wouldn't worry about "pure thoughts." Duality is an illusion, you're part of the light as well as the dark. Try to stay balanced.

Maybe just maybe, your fighting what you shouldn't.Here let me put it this way.Supposing we where created by the perfect being that was God.Now if I'm a perfect being and almighty then perhaps I am curious about my own origins.Perhaps God made man not with the intent to achive perfection, but quite the opposite. He wishes to understand imperfection. The meaning of life just might be the persuit of imperfection. You shouldn't struggle against any feelings or thoughts.Explore all of them.In all thought there is wisdom. It's the strugle that achives enlightenment not the acomplishment it's self.Because once your perfect why would you bother to continue a search for what you have?

And as with all things I say, take it with a grain of salt. After all I'm just an imperfect human being. =)

my two cents- anyone who thinks of himself as enlightened is most certainly not, the truly enlightened do not care a whit about status

Lagis i get what you are saying man, today i just kinda steped back and instead of fighting what i've been fighting i just kinda rolled with it and peace was right there to comfort me, it seems the more i fight it the edgerer i ge, but just learning to kinda let things flow, ya know ....could it be that by accepting our inperfections that we learn how to deal with them and confront them to move on to greener pastures so to speak? To strive for perfection in a spirtual way, of love, peace, faith, joy, all the good things?

We are already enlightened beings. We just forgot! REMEMBER!

haha "now what?"

That's the question I always try to ask myself whenever I recieve any new 'information'. We have knowledge...what should we do with it. Isn't that a branch of that philosophy fluff...ethics, or whatever. I guess the first thing to be done is spread the word. Get those ignorant bastards to start thinking on their own. Maybe if people could listen to and know what reason is, the world would stop sucking.

Oh...what the hell am I saying? The world doesn't suck... it just blows from time to time. I don't know. I don't know what the hell enlightenment is, but if it's some kind of superior perspective, then it's probably tied to reason. Anyway.. I interpreted the question with my own knowledge.
