Something seems off...I could be wrong though. It's the weird kinda melted cheese looking mycelium that gives me the vibe.

Why do you have all those holes drilled at substrate level? Who told you to do that?
Anyways I think your tub is bacterial. It'll still fruit most likely

Not a clue (doesnt matter anyways) and no. Bacterial sub's will still fruit most of the time though. Honestly it's kinda hard for me to tell from the photo but it looks a bit bacterial to me. Did you inoculate your spawn with a clean culture on agar?
What's with the all the holes at substrate level?

thats bacterial like a mofo. reminds me of one of my first grows. i was told it was overlay.

just give all the fresh air you can, cracked lids, unstuffed holes. just keep the surface moist. it looks rather dry.

I'm buying a fan for the closet it's in to increase air exchange and I'll lightly mist the actual sub for added moisture i hope it doesn't affect overall yeild

Learn to make your own. it'll be less likely to contamn once you get good at agar and agar 2 grains. plus its a lot cheaper.

Didn't you know you can remove bacteria by pouring a mixture of peroxide and bleach over the entire substrate, and chanting a Buddhist prayer? Cmon mush, get with the times

You know bacteria grows through the mycelium very rapidly right? If the whole surface is bacterial, it's also inside it as well. So all you did is scraped off the top layer of myc, causing unnecessary damage to your pinning surface, and prolonging pinning in a substrate that was already a ticking time bomb for trich. Then soaked it in alcohol, which would damage the surface even more, making it even more susceptible to contams..
Good luck lol. Cubes are hardy tho, I wouldn't be surprised if it does survive.
I seriously hope there isn't a next time, but there always is.. Next time, just try fruiting it as is.

I just pulled my first flush and dunked. Only the left side of my tub fully fruited hoping that the next flush is better i payed a price of parchment t paper over the top when i put it back in my fruiting environment to hopefully get a nice even pin set this time. But had a 736.45 wet grand pick so not bad at all for a first attempt. I call this a success. I'll post a picture of the harvest in a second they turned out amazing the ones that grew.
