Everything seemed simple when I first looked at it. But the more I read, the more detailed it is. Love it, this is going to be fun.

New question, the issue of maintaining temperature has come to mind. I found a ceramic bulb on Amazon, and it is well reviewed. My question is about the fixture. Are there any recommendations on a good fixture? Some I read about overheat or burn out in weeks. I want to use the ceramic so I can maintain heat without disrupting a light dark cycle. Amazon suggestions are preferred.

Where is your grow & what's the temperature? I don't know about those bulbs but it's good practice to keep the whole room (closet) @ temp, have you considered a small space heater?

I see, I do have a space heater, I suppose since it doesn't have a digital setting I can throw a thermometer in the closet and dial it in that way. Thanks for the idea bud.

No good mate those things will probably fry everything. The only bulb you need is a 6500k cfl and bring the heat in the room up to get your grow warm. Sticking a heat lamp on it sounds like a risky move without much experience

Yeah I think I'll just stick with the space heater instead of the lamp. Just have to get it dialed in.

Shroom supply says to inflate the bags, I am having trouble getting it to do so.

Hey, earlier you were saying you couldn't find the ingredients for substrate for a mono tub. If you're in Missouri, I know you have a Walmart close by. They should have coir and vermiculite in the garden section. Even if they don't have the brick coir, they will have bagged coir and the same rules apply for pasteurizing it. Then if you have a cooler, look for Bodhi's bucket tek on pasteurizing the coir. He doesn't even use vermiculite for dressing lightly on the top after the coir has fully colonized.
Actually, Wally world should have everything you need, except for what you already have. They don't have agar though, but you aren't looking for that yet!
As far as inflating the bags, you just open them up in a pretty darn clean area. I'd use a still air box just for added security. It's also called an SAB, and just look through the search feature for that as well.

Good advice, I went with pre sterilized rye grain bags.

So 10 days after injection into bags and 1 bag is showing signs of mycelium. I intend to combine 5 lbs of compost in with the 2 lbs of sub. If only one of my bags colonized is it still okay to mix just the 1lb into the 5lbs of compost? I assume it would take longer to colonize but I'm okay with that.
