Hello all! First post, first attempt. Lots of research here, thank you all! Got four syringes, and started the mono tub first. Used WBS, in 1/2 quart jars. My tmeps were not perfect, so it was a little slow to get going. Used most of the 10cc's of Corumba Brazil Cubes on the bird seed. Didn't expect the liquid to come out so quick! Haha! I was left over with about 3.5cc's. Figured I'd give BRF cakes a go in case the tub failed. Ran to the store, accidentally grabbed 1/4 pint jars. Oh well! All five cakes live in a clone dome from a local hydro store. So far we are at five weeks since inoculation of the cakes. The 58qt tub is at 6.5 weeks since the WBS jars were inoced. One week since the jars were mixed with the substrate and put in the tub. The medium in the tub is 1 brick coir, a cup of coffee grinds, about two cups verm, and about 1.5 gallons of boiling water. So far so good! The 1/4 jars will be interesting because i haven't seen much of a grow with them. More of an experiment now. Ill keep this updated as time goes on!

Hey all! The cakes are pretty much done. Gave me about 8 dried grams give or take. Not really a flush persay, just picked them as they were ready. My tub has been slow. It started pinning but only in the middle. The edges not so much. There is still some knots scattered around the edges but not with the density in the middle. Any ideas on what could be going on? It still smells mushroomy. Hope it's not cobweb. It's not grey really, just a lighter white. It hasn't grown with the speed that cobweb is said to have. Thanks guys!

plus, after a flush (even if they come slow and few at a time), you can expect the mycelium to take a rest. They will probably fruit again in a week or so. Give it 14 days. In the meantime,

your monotub looks real good actually. that mycelium looks healthy. Give it time and stop opening it up. I never touch my monos, when I fruit them they can take a cpl weeks before I start seeing decent pins, esp without a casing layer. good luck man

Thanks for the replies guys. The cakes were really just for fun so I didn't take them too seriously. If I do give cakes another try, I will definitely build a chamber! I'll keep this updated as it moves along.

One day at a time. picked a couple this evening. Is it better to harvest a few at a time as they are ready? Or wait until more are ready? Also, a couple of them have a strange growth on top. Not worried, just interesting! Cheers
