Look in the garden area, they usually come in 40lb bags for like a few bucks. Pelletized garden gypsum
Suprisingly enough I had to go to 5 home depots and 3 lowes and a grow store to find gypsum.
Same here. And then I never found it. grew with just plain CV since the start. But my thirst for the elusive garden gypsum was strong. I ordered a 10 lb bag Amazon prime free shipping lol. Took 3 or 4 weeks but it's the powdered gypsum and it'll last me for as long as I can see into the future

Too early to be feeling like I feel... lol.
Put a 1 UP Green Mario mushroom sticker decal on the back glass of my new ride just now. Looks tight.

How many jars that for Shoman?
I used about that much for 6-8 jars once and it was super way too much....

That's 125 ml I made for 12 jars. I just got done, and she went smooth boys. My first time pouring LI I poured way too much and messed up/wasted the best APE culture I've procured to date.
No worries though. I went back to the transfer plate and made a few more hoping for the best, and although they're not as beautiful as the original they looked great. Plus I've snagged a clone or two since then and I've got those cleaned up.
Things are looking up.
Now if I could just get some of the spore prints to germinate.. I'm having issues getting my spores to germ before bacteria covers my spores. Seems I have some bacterial prints and I'm kinda struggling to clean them up.
I actually have some gentamicin laying around but 1. Idk if spores will germ with gentimicin. 2. Most people believe you can clean up prints without antibiotics so why start being lazy now?
But foreal if anyone has any tips chime in. The bacteria covers the spores and they don't germinate.. on like 4 separate prints I have. I've failed to germ those prints 3 times now. I only know to try a new media. A member suggested the warm pour but I figured it wouldn't do any good if myc wasn't germinating.
Geez sorry for the ramble guys..

Does it matter how agar wedges or pasty agar wedges are situated in a grain jar. Mine are just sitting on top but I've seen many pics where they are on sitting in the side of the jar.

@ zajcob I feel like maybe if you tilted your grain jar a little, put in your agar, and gently shook your grains back over top the agar, the myc would "take off" faster. Considering it's still sitting on the agar, it has to make it's way off the agar before it hits the grain.

I've heard that they recover better on top but I always shake em so the mycelium on the agar is at least facing the grains

Don't think I have any failures left in me.

Didn't redo all my lids, buy a whole new pressure cooker, all new SAB, just to keep getting contams.
I'm raging to the point I'm about to go outside and bust my jars and call this a wrap.
I've failed my last 14/15 tries. How much longer do I keep going before it's time to admit I can't do this?

Have you been using that grain for every try? Maybe try a new grain prep. Pc 2 hours. Think about your sanitary procedures...
The same stuff I'm sure you've heard a million times. Best of luck moab.

I was glad about one of the pasty discs that landed upside down . I shook all the jars a little so that some grains would get on top of the wedge, but its funny how the wedge just tried to stay on top of the grains no matter what. Tilting the jar a little during the drop sounds like a good idea if you want it on the side. Well within a week I should know if things are going any good I guess.

I maybe went too crazy too fast.
That photo is a 1/5 TYC jars. The other 4 look fine. So I assume something got in just at one jar.... I hope....
May try oats or something or a different seed brand soon. This is getting ridiculous. I'd get how long in prison for these mold jars with a touch of cube myc? What's the point?
Gotta nail this soon or I'm out. My PE looks great, and my other TYC jars look good. Think if I spawn these and get green, that'll be it. It's costing up in the 4 digit numbers, and I've never made $1dollar back.

Oats is an easy prep. I use 'em.
1/5.. that's old. Are the other jars around the same progress? PPP is right, there has got o be a step your missing here that's so simple.

Yes all shaken on the same day, all within 10 minutes apart. All exact same progress. Been leaving them alone. The jar in question was at the back of the row, rarely ever saw it even at a glance....
I'm just unsure of where the problem is coming from. It really sucks, because I'm not a big fat dumb meathead. I put a lot of effort into doing everything in life the best I can possibly do it, and this just keeps bombing bad. Sucks mostly because I know that I focus and try hard at this hobby, just isn't coming together

Sab movements need to be slow n steady, can't be doing Mr roboto in the thing. Still have to make sure your arms or hands are not over open jars. Can't clink jars together when g2ging. Make sure no fans are running including the furnace that would cause air currents in the work area.

Gonna focus more on this post when I work next.
Clinking jars together, the occasional getting flustered with my hands and maybe make a half pass over a jar before catching myself.
also my SAB is directly on the counter to the left of my fridge, which always seems to be doing something that makes noise.....
Need to tighten my SAB work up I think. I hope. Failure sucks. Continuing to fail after trying hard not to keep failing, sucks even more.

We need to make a thread recording our sab sessions, I think it would be awesome and everybody could learn a few tricks here and there.
