Yes it does. You can find it in the plumbing section of hardware stores

Maybe i'm not looking at the right thing then, never found some in an hardware store.
i buy mine at a lab store (used to seal glass syringe).

Maybe does it sell under a different name than silicon oil in hardware stores?

Hey bod how would you put your g2g receiving jars so that the polyfil doesn't get wet when you sterilizing? Do you just use aluminum foil? How loose do u make the jar ring

I use foil so the lids stay sterile till i remove the foil in the sab

Rings loose enough to not piss you off later

This thread literally changed my life.

I was struggling to fit the 10th jar in comfortably, and blamed it on the 22qt mirro vs the 23 presto. Fits perfect when done correctly. DOH!

Also, foil to keep sterile, good idea. Especially because I normally do multiple PC runs before finally innocing the jars

For real my third jar was wedged in there pretty bad! Thank God glass doesn't expand too much!

Hey bodhi, any tips for when I do my ki jar? It's a pint jar with a RTV ship on the side and I just use the blender blade and a lid band. If I leave it loose, water boils out. I leave it tight, it gets pressure sealed on.

updated with some info about how to load your jars without a bubble of air under them because I guess it's probably not common sense

I usually will use very hot tap water or near boiling water to fill the pressure cooker.

I just want to point out that in a lot of places such as where I live using hot water will equate to a buildup of calcium and other substances that are picked up from the hot water heater. In my experience it's worth just using cold and waiting a little longer for it to heat up. Otherwise you'll be spending the same ACTUAL if not more time later cleaning it, over and over. Not to mention the gallons of vinegar I've needed to use to remove the mineral deposits (EDIT: before I started ignoring instructions to use hot water, hence now reading my manuals instead of random online input someone decided was "the way" based on their habits).

Otherwise this is "Bod's how to use your pressure cooker if you can't or refuse to read the manual" tek in which case if you can't/won't read well, ...

As much as I appreciate shroomery knowledge I think people should just be reading their manuals - which I did not do at first and made things a PITA.
My two pressure cookers have two different sets of instructions including whether or not they should be vented first for example.
One will build pressure with gradual heat where the other, the heat has to be cranked otherwise it won't build up.
Just pointing this all out due to mistakes I've made from only reading the shroomery.
The hot water thing is an immediate red flag for me on this one, hence this post. Read your manuals.

Hot water is fine. If your shit builds up that terrible that under a gallon of water causes you buildup so bad it warrants cleaning you got other issues.

I also say distilled is best just like your manual says. Furthermore This is how to use your cooker for mycology purpose not for canning or making food.

And lastly you can boil up distilled or cold water (because of your scale issues) in a microwave or electric kettle to speed things up.

The OP doesn't mention how long we need to leave the PC on heat at 15psi, after venting. Please guide. thanks!

Those numbers are in the teks for the things that go in the cooker. Like your cake tek, spawn grain teks, agar Tek, etc..

Maybe use silicon grease like they use for faucet valves.
