This jar is showing pins during consolidation period. Would folks here suggest birthing + dunk/roll now or another approach to save the pins?

If its fully colonized, birth, pull pins, allow to dry or eat fresh, dunk and roll, do what you wish.

Two questions about cooling:
1) Is there a maximum? I did this last night, let them cool over night, byut don’t have time to do it before work. Can they “cool” for 20-24 hours? Or should I start over?
2) I misremembered the instructions. The were In pressure cooker for 60 minutes at 15psi. I let it cool for an hour, opened the lid, then let them cool on counter over night. Should I start over?

should be fine as long as you haven't taken the foil off. minimum time i'd let them cool is atleast 8 hours. longest i'd do probably like 48.
The general rule of thumb is, the sooner you inoculate them after they are cool, the better.

Thanks so much. Sure appreciate all your knowledge and expertise. So many of your posts have tiny (or huge) things that just spark an “Ah ha -Makes total sense” moment.
By the time I get home from work they’ll have been “cooling” for about 20 hours. Foil hasn’t moved. We’ll roll the dice. Thanks Ziran!

you can leave the pins on the cake, they should be fine thru the dunk.

Doing my first grow soon... Do we only use the SAB to inoculate and then let the jars colonize somewhere else? Or do we keep the jars in the SAB while colonizing?

Hi there!!
Complete noob here and I never did a batch in my life.
I decided to follow this guide and I'm confused about the field capacity part.
Do I squeeze the water out before adding the BRF or after?
In step 2.2 it is stated to squeeze out the water and in step 2.3 the water is added (again) so that got me confused.

those gifs are just to show you what field capacity looks like, follow the water ratio in the tek and you should be just fine.

The purpose of those verm squeezes is to help new people identify what field capacity looks like. Cause its gonna look the same for Hpoo, coir, cpoo ect. the only difference will be the amount of water each material can hold.

I want to get started on my first grow. I would like to end up with an ounce after I'm done drying. How many cakes should I make, and how many 10cc syringes should I get? Also I see you just say put a few drops in the jars. Sorry I'm nerdy and like being specific, do you know how many cc's each jar gets?

I'd make like 20 cakes+
That'll get you an Ounce+ if they all make it to fruiting.
Each inoculation hole should get about 1 drop of your MS syringe.
