So I’ve got a question. First time grower here, just wanted to thank Ziran and everyone else here for all the knowledge they’ve put together on this site, it’s awesome.
I’ve got all my jars 100% colonized right now, just waiting for them to fully consolidate. Is it better to fruit the cakes individually, or grate them down to bulk in a tub? Which yields better results would you say? Let me know what you think, thanks fam!

Depends. Breaking to bulk tends to give more grams per cake, but one contaminated cake can spoil the tub.
Cakes have the advantage of being seperate, a bad one you didn't notice can be removed from a sgfc and the rest will keep goin. Cakes are unique looking and fun to. Great to learn with intially while still making mistakes and missing things imo.

Gotcha, I’ll think I’ll finish this round of cakes and depending on how they come out try something different next time. This place is literally the encyclopedia for mushroom cultivation it’s great.

3 days till I birth my 5 cakes. I have decided to stick with the basics and go with the dunk n' roll for my first attempt back at growing. I am an absolute lightweight so I don't need a lot of yield. I am just so very happy to have 5 cakes come out without contam so far without having used a PC.
I'll go with something a little better then a two-liter for a FC this time though.

Gonna fruit my cakes this weekend after dunking, I liked the way the hybrid SGFC sounded that Ziran posted on another thread and try that bad boy out. I'll post some pictures once they're in there

Hey, I injected spores into my jars but realized I didn't stick the needle all the way in until the last jar. The last jar is colonizing but the rest aren't. What should I do? Wait and see?

add some more perlite. you want those bottom small holes completely covered.

Ok will do. I used an 8 quart bag and noticed it was a bit short of the holes, I’ll have to buy some more and throw it in. Thanks!

sorry for quoting the wrong amount. looks like its probably 12 quarts total to get it where ya want it.

Oh well. The 8 quart is on the way and it's what i had money for lol.
on another note, check it out.

Plan on dunking tomorrow morning so pretty neat.
