Lost humidity for an unknown amount of time last night- pond foggers went caddywompus and weren't running so the ultrasonic ran out of water trying to keep up. Regularly hand misting now as well to try to help them bounce back. It was 70% rH when I woke up

Also: disaster:

All of my supplemented sterilized sawdust bags are showing green. Not sure what went wrong here as I've been doing grain bag to grain bag with no issues. Maybe PC time wasn't long enough.

Was there any air exposure when the spawn was added, or anytime after sterilization?

I did it all in front of the flowhood- maybe I accidentally had a bit of the bag above the air stream. Thought I was careful not to do that. And there is a chance something got in in transferring to impulse dealer- but like I said all my grain spawn bags have turned out fine. And they go directly from spawn to impulse and then shake- really don't know what I did wrong. Oh well- I'll sit them outside see if I can still get some fruits. The only thing that sucks is it takes forever to sterilize sawdust bags with my AA921- only 2 bags fit at a time- 3 hour sterilization time, cool down time- Ug can't wait to build a 55 gal drum.

Super bummed to hear that TA. I have a few bags running with that same generation/batch of spawn I gave you. Will let you know if they turn funky. Here's a shot of one of the bags. I'm a little concerned about the yellowing around the grains, but the growth is very uniform so far. Time will tell.
inoculated 5/4 with 65g of grain spawn. The white discoloring in the center is masking tape residue.

Yeah I don't think it was the spawn- I'm thinking either PC times or something in my technique I messed up.
Rearranged to give the big clusters in the back more room to grow and a little cluster fell off.

Those are probably the best oyster clusters I've ever had!

They will do ok at 70%. Figure they grow outside and it's not 90% all the time ,looking good.

Just harvested. Learned there are definitely micro climates inside the chamber, but similarly positioned bags performed similarly, whichever type of wood.
Pine:

Hardwood:

As you can see- the pine actually produced a little more weight than the hardwood, but only barely.

Nicelly done! I have a really hard time finding hardwood pellets up here in Sweden, as pine and spruce are the dominant wood types here. So the results you have are very positive for me. Big parts of of the hardwood forests up here are protected. But I have just stumbled across a place that deals with alder though, that is good enough for me as for now.

Well that further proves NOT using softwood is "out of date" information.

All the supplemented bags that had contamed now apear fine. Put two into Fruiting the other day and am putting the other two in today. Both were Pine so it seems to run a little faster supplemented than hardwood. Had some trouble with FAE- turns out a seal on my outtake broke dumping CO2 back into the room. It's fixed- a bit too late for this flush but I really like this cluster anyways.
