So it seems they are considering military action against north korea in the near or far future. This perspective makes me kinda worried since china probably wouldnt just stand by and let it happen. I really hope this wont start a war between china and the US as this would be disastrous for everyone. Also theres always the thread of north korea using their nuclear weapons.

It would be another Vietnam but with a very prepared army.
North Korea might have a old tanks but they have a large amount of soldiers who are absolutely brainwashed. They are pretty much invincible on their own soil right now. Now invasion would succeed. You would need 100000 bombs before considering putting soldiers in there. Unless you go D-Day on them.

Seoul would get nuked and hundreds of thousands of Koreans, North and South, would die.
Global humanitarian crisis. And a tug of war over what happens to NK soil between China and the US for decades to come.

North Korea would fuck South Korea up, at least the north.
I seriously worry that trump would turn what should be a conventional war into a nuclear one. I don't think he understands that nuclear weapons are not actually intended to be used, and certainly Not used as a short cut for conventional warfare. Can you imagine if he was president during the Cuban missile crisis? None of us would be here.

The US has absolutely no place in Korea to begin with. The US meddling with their geopolitics for its own imperialist gain is retarded. Stupid fucking war hawks looking to create conflict where it's not necessary.

Trumpheads.... Let's be honest. The thought of trump dealing with a volatile international crisis scares you too, doesn't it?

Either or. It would be a stalemate. NK can't survive if they attack first. US can't win without thousands of deaths. Both side lose. In the end the US wins, but that another trillion dollars.

Trump cant even deal with CNN and the shit he makes up about Obama , the thought of him having to deal with an actual crisis is terrifying. His word has zero credibility , no one can believe anything he says .

Not a stalemate, a bloodbath.
There are only a few ways it can go, and none of them are great. Hundreds of thousands dead is probably a grossly optimistic estimate. Assuming the U.S. initiates the engagement, there would probably be a massive preliminary bombardment meant to annihilate any assets that are capable of retaliatory launches. We have a lot of practice at those sorts of operations, but, as an example, In desert storm, ground forces weren't supposed to engage until 80+% of targets were eliminated from the air. The reality was more like 30% I'll hunt down the book i read that in somehow. My point is that any first strike bombardment would not be 100% effective, so you could expect some retaliatory strikes. I imagine that we would put the primary burden of ground invasion on South Korea, and mostly provide air and naval support. China would likely protest loudly and do some sabre rattling. They might even provide some material support to NK, assuming that there is enough of NK left to support after the first strike, but they probably won't want to interfere otherwise. Hell, I doubt if they even cut off trade ties with us or anything like that either. Things progress, and after 3-12 months, we can leave, and it can be SK's problem. Thats the best case scenario for the U.S. It would be expensive, and most of NK would have to be obliterated along with the people there, but comparatively few Americans would die. Of course, SK/Japan/The U.S. Navy might have to soak up a few missiles.
But what if we provoke NK into acting first? They fire off their shit and the civilian casualties in japan and SK would be staggering. Sure, we can come after the fact and initiate the scenario above, but we would likely have to commit significant ground troops to supplement SK's initial losses which runs a greater risk of provoking China further than we might prefer. Maybe we could get Japan to do it, but China might actually jump into the fray at that point.
As annoying as it is, the clear best choice is to avoid open hostilities to the greatest extent possible. That way, millions of people don't die.
That's my analysis anyway, and that's why i don't think even trumpty-dumpty is likely to take us to war with NK under the current conditions.
