I heard it actually burns really clean and gives good gas mileage. Can anyone confirm this bottle on 95% grain alcohol WILL INDEED power my truck to work tomorrow?

You need about twice as much alcohol flowing as you do gasoline to achieve the same amount of combustive force. New heads, new fuel injectors, new fuel lines, fuel rails, uh, new fuel tank... don't pour everclear into your gas tank

I definitely wouldn't burn it straight. I might mix it 10% to gasoline 90%.

straight alcohol (in the small amount you're talking about) is only good for dissolving water in your gas tank.
And for running on ethanol, the carburetor must be adjusted. FI systems won't take it.

I was reading last night on how to brew 100% ethyl alcohol and change any engine to burn the everclear.... It burns cleaner, and some engines with plastics int he fuel injectors can't use everclear as gas. However, once the change over is made, they were saying everclear is VERY cheap and somewhat easy to make( and now, it's legal to produce it as fuel, just not moonhsine) Moral of the story: don't use everclear as fuel and don't mix it with gas unless you know what you're doing... it could fuck your engine and carburetor/injectors up. It burns way cleaner than gas too, and will clean your engine entirely while it burns off.

Permits: In the US, home brewers need to get a "small fuel producer" permit from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. It is fairly easy to acquire, and denaturing is not required for ethanol consumed on premises. Making 96% ethyl alcohol is relatively simple. Making 100% ethyl alcohol is not. Ethanol/Water form an azetrope around 96% ethanol and thus it is impossible to distil 100% ethanol from an ethanol/water mixture without using another technquie (such as a third compound to break the azetrope).
Anyways... You would need a permit to make 96% ethanol for your car but you would need some room/welding experience to contruct and operate the still. Here is a great site with more info: http://running_on_alcohol.tripod.com/

running alcohol in your car will freeze your carburator, you'd have to adjust the fuel air mix as well or simply spend a little cash, other than that, it's safe but very costly.
producer of alco-carbs, shoot straight up Ga-400 and you're there http://www.barrygrant.com/

If anyone stumbles upon this I will set the record straight. Any gas car can run on alcohol. You don't need any new equipment but the software isn't used to it so it will give you an error code NOTHING IS WROG WITH THE CAR. However run it on gas before your smog test to shut off the error code. You lose 1/3 or the mileage not half. Who ever said it would blow out your carbuerator DUDE cars haven't been made with carbuerators in a long time. You can get a permit to make your own hooch in order to produce ethanol fuel there are directions on wikihow. Any Pruno recipe will do just let it ferment longer and you can make your own free gas out of stuff people throw away. People do this every day. So yes your car will run on Everclear.
