Mycobags
    #2416030 - 03/10/04 06:27 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I was looking around today and thought i might like to try a mycobag grow.
I looked at some grain and straw bags and am thinking of going to straw way.
I have not done straw before and would like to try it without having tons of it everywhere.
my question is mostly this whats your thoughts and experiences with mycobags.
And can i just incubate in the bag then cut it open and case the straw once its colonized ?

like MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

p.s, straw is a great substrate, but if you can get access to some dung to mix it in with, the results improve dramitically; however, straw isn't usually sterilised, it's commonly pasturised. I don't know how straw performs when sterilised; are you talking about buying a straw bag, or sterilising some yourself? what the hell am i talking about? i'm drunnkig

 bags are great

I love mycobags... but you may want to play with some grain too. I swear, those grain bags can grow straw/poo sized shrooms. Very impressive.

My favorite part about mycobags is you can leave 'em out and watch 'em grow. They are protected inside the bag... the filter patch does its job well... also leaving a mycobag in the light while it colonizes seems to be fine. Bags tend to pin once they are fully colonized anyway so, enjoy watching your bags grow.

Oh, yes, and you can and should case your straw once colonized. I hear straw doesn't give many flushes. I may be wrong.
