Hericium Americanum questions

I got a couple of blocks of sawdust spawn in with the plan to use it to make up a bunch of bags. I had to wait on a bag of Lion's Mane to cook up for my order so it came in looking like it should, thin & whispy. The Comb's Tooth looked 99% or better and covered in little lumps.
Got my bags ready yesterday and went to get the Comb's Tooth ready and noticed most of the little bumps looked very similar to Lion's Mane pins. I cut a couple slits to let it fruit in the bag but to get enough slits was going to shred the bag. I cut the bag away and put the block in my fruiting chamber.
Question time .... 1) The pins look roughly the same as Lion's Mane?
2) Humidity levels needed?
3) FAE requirements the same as Lion's Mane?
4) Temperature requirements?
Any helpful info would be appreciated. I did the search on here and found 8 pages of nothing. Was hoping to have consolidation time to find more info but got a ready to fruit bag.

Interesting- I will
I would say go with your gut as a mycologist- if it reminds you of Lion's Mane treat it like Lion's Mane until you get a definitive answer. Got any pics? said in a totally not creepy way

Oooooo..... you know for lion's Mane you are only supposed to cut one or two holes in the bag not remove the bag, right? Eek sorry if I made you do that but I had just assumed you knew how Lion's Mane fruited.

I was shooting for slits but there are so many pins I took the bag off. I removed the bag before the original post so no worries. Wasn't expecting a block of pins, lol. It's my first time with Comb's Tooth so I'll treat it as a learning experience.
I took a few small pieces and put them on agar as I took the bag off.

Just be super wary of humidity and misting and I hope it works out! If it's anything like Lion's Mane then people usually ignore the majority of the invitro pins- choosing just a spot or two to expose to Fruiting conditions will make the mycelium send all its energy to that spot(s) to produce the best fruits. Lion's Mane is notorious for pinning quickly, sometimes before you can even tell the whole thing is colonized. I'm just afraid it will both dry out and try to fruit in so many places you won't get very good fruits

No worries . It was supposed to be broken up and spread across other bags anyway. I'll keep notes on the fruiting and break it up and make more bags after I get a harvest. Then I can see if fruiting it like Lion's Mane makes it fruit better. In the meantime, I have pieces on agar to grow/expand.
I debated on ignoring the pins and breaking it up anyway. If we get a few small fruits, I'll be happy.

What little I've found says it grows similar to Lion's Mane but no specifics unless I buy a grow kit. Every grow pic I found shows them fruiting in the bag but they are from commercial growers.
Are they fruited in the bag to get bigger fruits for market or does it do better all around?
I grow for me & the missus so smaller fruits aren't a problem.

It does better all around as it needs really high humidity (even for Fungi) and is prone to dry out. Think also how we do holes for oysters- if you were just to birth the whole bag you'd get an assload of pins but most of them would abort and you'd get far less well formed fruits than if you space holes out in the bag.

Hmm. I would like to get away from bags so I'm going to have to do some thinking.
I have some 2-3 gallon buckets, wonder if I could do Lion's Mane and Comb's Tooth in those like oyster buckets.
