Fun story: that’s a tombac nickel which is special because it was minted during WW2 out of %88 copper, nickels are usually made out of nickel obviously lol. In order to preserve precious metals and therefore have extra funds to divert to the war effort all Canadian nickels minted during WW2 were made with copper. I found this in my pocket change the other day and was just simply excited to find a coin with such an old date on it then I realized what exactly it was beyond just old!
