wait 30m then load into jars and pressure cook
even more simple version
put grain in pressure cooker. put lid on, forget about the weight being on the lid. come back find it at 18psi. pull weight off and turn heat off let it get to 0psi takes a lot longer than expected like nearly 7 minutes. take lid off and pour into strainer
wait 30m load into jars and pressure cook

Thanks bod. Measuring my dry cups now. Went out and bought oats due to the simplicity of this Tek. Appreciate it.
Have about 8 dry cups in there.

Didn't see to rinse, so I didn't. However I did remove the first fill up of floaters. Left the rest. Not sure if it matters. Heating up now.

Here they are after straining and draining. No rinse. Feels kinda starchy but I'm going with it...

And lastly, loaded into jars.

Thanks bod.
If this looks proper, you're welcome to put the pics in the OP

You might have issues with grains sticking together if you didn't rinse them

Maybe you guys get better oats than me but if I don't rinse I get massive clumping in my jars after PCing then

I keep floaters, never rinse. No gypsum. No problems shaking not too many clumps ever if any
5 hours is fine.

The oats that I picked up are super cheap, which is great, but they are far from clean. There's a lot of dust, some loose hulls and plant matter.
Is there a point at which you would recommend a little rinsing or is that still going to be a waste of time?
This is a handful off the top of the bag of cheap AF oats I picked up at the local grain elevator. Just curious how this compares to the stuff you're using.

Try rinsing if you think it needs it. Mine is dusty but not bad

Have you done any spawn run comparisons with oat and rye berries? I'm curious about the yields and colonization times you would have experienced. Being so much cheaper, quicker, and easier makes me want to switch over if the times and yields are similar. Thanks again for the clear and simple write up. I appreciate your contributions greatly.

Spawn choice doesn't really make any difference to yield or colonization time at all.
