BOD's Easy AF polyfil lid TEK 80

This tek is part of bod's cultivation is easy as fuck link listBod's easy polyfil lid TEKget some wide or narrow mouth quart jars with the lid still on the jar, take a Phillips screwdriver and jam it through the middle. Then twist up some polyfil and make it as tight as fucking possible in the lid without tearing the seams of the hole in the lid into a bigger hole. I use a poker to help push the polyfil in, it will take some practice but it becomes very easy to do. you can see in the pictures how the lids are made. 1/4 to 1/2 inch holes can be used. I suggest stay around 1/4-3/8 I decided to use narrow mouth jars because a narrower opening means less opportunity for contaminants to enter during g2g. And to prove to people it's possible to not have to use wide mouth jars as receiving jars. The orientation of the lid doesn't matter, I flipped them to make it easier to work with in the SABtake one master jar into 7-10 receiving jars, if done correctly should be colonized in 4-10 days. average of 6-7 days to full colonization. Here's PESA g2g after 12 hours. The master jar was MS from a spore syringe directly to the grains(blasphemy) +84 hours 3.5 days in +132 hours 5.5 days in +162 hours 6.75 days in 98-100% colonization

I've always used regular mouth jars and simply opened them inside of my SAB. I've colonized 200 jars in one run via g2g with over a 90% success rate. As a bonus, I didn't have to do the extra work of ruining my SFD with a screwdriver and stuffing unnecessary polyfil.
Seems pretty silly and like it's nothing but extra work imo.

Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

unmodified? Do my two holes inside of the lid of the jar with a synthetic filter disc on top not qualify as a modification?

ah they looked more like what pasty does unmodified. It looks like you just flipped the lid. you didn't really mention what was going on in the post
I never use whole SFDs too expensive a bag of poly lasts forever. jar lids are cheap and we both ended up punching holes.
IDK why you would punch through your SFD with a screwdriver that's stupid you would punch through the lid and continue to use the SFD intact... I thought you mis-spoke

because that makes no sense at all.
the only difference is the filter material, you can use any lid with a whole and stuff with poly, cover with a SFD glued down, or use a whole SFD like you did.
at the end of the day both of these lid designs have been around for decades

Guess I assumed you were using a SFD. Of course this was before you updated your post with further pics as I didn't go through the extra effort of enlarging the images original images.
Still, I've never heard anyone say that you HAVE to use wide-mouth jars.

Not too shabby, maybe you could add some info about doing a g2g. Get someone to take some pics of the process. I know its common sense but you know....people are people.
Otherwise youre basically just showing a lid stuffed with poly.

I do something very similar except with SFD's cut into quarter size pieces.

Then on the reverse side I took a hammer and hit it once to flatten out the metal.

Lids are mystified somehow like it's not just a filter and a piece of metal with a hole

Do you place the lids inside jars upside down before PC'ing?
Coz what i noticed is that lids are really hard to take off after PC'ing.

I prefer the narrow mouth jars myself for both masters and receivers. Like you mention narrower opening over media, and I've never had a problem pouring into them.
I have a fuck ton of wide mouth jars I'm slowly retiring to keep everything the same
