HELP! i need to record a demo on my computer
    #2411693 - 03/09/04 07:07 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

I'm a dj, i spin DnB and some trance, i have been getting pretty good and have started spinning some parties, but i have come to a point where i would like to record a demo cd.

i think that the easiest way to do this would be on my computer. i wouldnt have any hardware problems, but i need software that is capable of recording at most a 74 minute set, and then seperating it into different tracks. does anyone have a program to do this or know of one that i could use?

Thanks!

In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

there are lots of free (two-track) audio recorder progs out there.

try www.download.com.

but i would recommend investing in a solid digital audio editor.

Peak and Spark are excellent two-track editors w/ nice effects,
and they support VST plug-ins and virtual instruments.

if you want to get into multi-track production,
learn Cubase, Logic, or ProTools.

Steinberg WaveLab does exactly this, also has vst support. It will let you record as long as you want, provided you have the hard drive space. Also very easy to drop markers and divide into tracks.

Wavelab is what u want

i use sound forge with cd architect to make seamless mixes with no
pause in between tracks. im sure you can do this a few other ways but this makes it very easy and saves a lot of time. they retail together for about 400$.

audacity sucks

I got a copy of cubase SX 3 cracked by H20. I can send to you via internet or mail. Its what I use to record my sets when mixing. If ya want it let me know.
