It's a small deal. They're willingness to make it a bigger deal than it needed to be shows how much they're concerned with security

Hmm, I am philosophing now, why my current Mono is NOW infected with green mold, close to the end of the first awesome flush.
Tested all glasses with the shake-check, smell-check and my sterile work is close to 0 contaminations(I thought).

Anyone an another idea or was it just misfortune?

Right on.

Hey how soft do you guys mix your agar for plates specifically being used for germination?

Is 15g per Litre good?

Glasses? You're not using jars or?

Green molds are *very* difficult to detect in grain spawn. A pass on shaks and smell doesn't meant its clean by any means

Absolutely agree.  I burned everything to make sure anyway.  All correspondence, a lot of pictures, a few accounts on random sites.  A purge is a good thing to do every now and then with hobbies like this.

A user found that sometimes when doing a HTTP request on Cloudflare the webpage would return corrupted.

On some occasions, the server would return information past the end of a buffer, containing "HTTP cookies, authentication tokens, HTTP POST bodies, and other sensitive data."

According to CloudFlare "the greatest period of impact was from February 13 and February 18 with around 1 in every 3,300,000 HTTP requests through Cloudflare potentially resulting in memory leakage (that’s about 0.00003% of requests)."

That means that, if you were lucky enough to run into this bug (1 in 3,300,000 chance) AND you were somehow lucky enough to run into useful data AND somehow you ran into user data then your account could possibly have been compromised. As you might expect, this is an impossibly small chance for your specific user account on this specific website on this particular service (Cloudflare).

More details from Cloudflare: https://blog.cloudflare.com/incident-report-on-memory-leak-caused-by-cloudflare-parser-bug/

Bug report from the user that discovered the bug: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/project-zero/issues/detail?id=1139

So I think I have finally come to a decision on a filter IS this OK? and after measuring my blower I have decided it is the 3/4 hp modelDayton 1xjy2 so I'm pretty sure that will be enough for the 3' x 4' filter that I want.

My question is:

My last FH had the regular style pleats with the metal ruffles on the filter face and I damaged the metal ruffles while working and couldn't bend them back to the same position.  I really like the looks of the mini pleat filter face and wondering if that is the ideal choice so this doesn't happen again?

It seems like the mini pleat are harder to find so instead could I make a grate that covers the face of the filter so there will be less damage if I were to bump it accidentally?

Thought I saw a writeup on that exact thing recently hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

??

Also some of the filters I am looking at say they have a recommended final pressure drop of 2" some have .5" and some have 1". I'm pretty sure that 1.2" or around there at 100 fps is what I want right? Or will the different pressure recommendations still produce laminar flow without any turbulence?

That filter looks fine.

You need a blower that pushes at least 1200CFM @ 1.2 SP (.2 for pre filter). Check the blower specs (ask the seller) for the blower before you buy it, check what it pushes at 1 - 1.2 SP. I wouldnt really go by what the filters say on them usually we are technically re purposing them .

You will need a 6" plenum behind the filter at minimum, I recommend 10-12.

You *can* put a screen over the pleats Ive seen some people do it but I think it can cause some problems. Im don't know enough about it. You just have to be super careful not to damage the pins.

That's a big hood! I'm really excited to see this built! If you built one before I probably told you a bunch of shit you already know I just was helping someone else so I copied and pasted most of my speil

Thanks so much for everyone's help with this... I ended up ordering this one https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/hvac/filters/airex-filters/airex-174-36-x48-x6-hepa-filter-micro-air-99-97-efficiency-metal-frame-high-quality
but I accidentally ordered the wood frame instead of metal.

Any downside to this?

Stuck at an impasse...I usually heat treat my coir/verm casing ala cooler tek, and then do a proper pasteurization of the casing material before laying it out...

Am I adding an un needed step? Should I just use the heat treated casing as is?

I'd be more worried going with a 99.97 vs a 99.99

so does that .02% actually play a role? like out of every 10000 inoculations 2 would contam due to the filter?

I believe 99.97% is 0.3 microns which is the same as sfd filters
0.2 microns can sterilize water so I think 99.97 would be fine but why not go the extra mile?

What casing are you using?
Coir verm?
