Bodhi...What's your take on the cause of that? I've never had it and I was messing around with watering etc to max it out.

Isn't the splitting on the stem and the orange splotches a sign of vert?
I remember seeing a post by blindingleaf (i think) that showed a picture of vert on mushrooms.
Could be outdated info though? Not too sure :/

Mycelial "blobs" (as I call them). Why does it do that? Ps. cyanescens

WFTek (wood + flour) working nicely.

Proper vs. bacterial jar.

Close-up. It's climbing like a mofo, hehe.

I guess what's happened is a lot of people have spread misinformation about what causes those symptoms on shrooms, calling it "vert", when in reality it's actually just a sign of bacteria. And the misinformation has been propogated so effectively that people get confused when you try to correct their diagnosis.

Mycologist217 said: Preliminary Lab/Farm tour as we move to finishing the lab equipment this weekend: picture one shows the laminar flow hood and all America 941 pressure cooker. These units will set on a stainless steel work bench for sterile work including sterilizing grain spawn and all inoculation procedures.
Picture two is the completed 55gal steam sterilizer. This unit is wired to run 22 hour steam sterilizing cycles and will be used to sterilize the organic substrates the mushroom fungus will colonize and grow on. Next to this sterilizer will be a large work table for mixing and preparing the substrates and loading them into the specially designed mushroom grow bags we have.
Picture three will be where the incubation cabinet will set (building on Sunday). The pictured heat lamp and duct cooling fan will will be wired to kick on when temperatures drop below 75F or rise above 80F respectively. This cabinet will be where the fungus colonizes the substrates in the sterilized bags.
Picture 4 displays the major components of the automated swamp cooling system that will be in the grow chamber. This DIY swamp cooling machine will use a powerful 6" fan to pull air from out side the chamber through a filter and push it into a swamp cooling basin. Along with the swamp cooling bad this air will be humidified with ultrasonic misters before it is pushed out of the basin and into the grow chamber to provide clean fresh air circulation and humidication and decent temperature control.
And of course picture 5 is the grow chamber where the mushrooms will grow. Can't wait to get started in the next couple weeks!

i thought that too but its in a mono with barely any tape and the lid is ajar 75% of the day. could humidity still be that high with that much airflow... although it is in my closet.
but my closet has sliding doors and they are also open 75% of the time..

When you first posted pics of those referring to the veils my first thought was that the humidity was to high. And now that they have myc growing on the caps kinda confirms my thoughts. But I could be way off

Anyone see anything of concern? The only bits not colonized are small bits of coir that are slightly higher than everything else. I'm sure it'll colonize eventually.
