Sick Mycelia
    #2411528 - 03/09/04 04:36 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

What can cause these ugly dark green mould spots?
Can I save the brick?

As you see I have got another sick one!
Only the half of it is cobwebby,if I cut the brick into 2,will it help?

The last question: Is that yellow-brown liquid on the bottom a problem?

Thanx for your HELP!!!!
I'm looking forward to your answers. E-mail: megveszed@freemail.hu

looks to me like you're shit outta luck.

none of those look very promising.

the liquid can be a combination of either
metabolic waste from the mycellium (is
that horse shit as substrate?) and/or
waste from bacterial contamination.

Can I do something for them, or shall I forget them?
What about cutting them into two?

Simply put no, those casings are doomed. Get them the hell out of there or you're gonna keep having the problem.

Sorry dude, nothing short of a divine intervention can save those casings. :frown: Better luck next time.

If you tell us how you prepared them, step by step, maybe we can tell you where you did wrong. (my guess is insufficient sterilization)

What did you use as substrate? Did you clean and sanitize your case and tools very well beforehand? Did you keep the right temperature in the chamber? These and many other questions you should ask yourself if you want to avoid the same thing happening again. Good luck!

If you have spent money on a grow kit and don't want to lose everything it might be worth trying to clone a healthy looking part onto clean grain or liquid media. This is what they used to do before the advances in decontamination. Take a look at one of the cloning teks . Also get rid of the contaminated parts outside and clean the area thoroughly. Good luck
