P. Mexicana Jalisco question

So i have some projects going on with tampanensis and jalisco. You can see my sclerotia grow HERE and some jars fruiting HERE . I have jars of jalisco that are starting to look odd compared to my tampanensis jars. Heres the jalisco jars

Ive never grown jalisco so im not sure if this is how the stones are suppose to look like. Im not worried about the moisture, sclerotia jars seem to sweat a little bit on the inside when it starts to grow truffles. Plus it stays around 68 to 70 so its part condensation too. Anyways if theres an expierenced jalisco grower who know wat it looks like, help me out please. The jalisco jar i fruited never contamed too so its just kinda odd looking. Every jar looks like those.

Are you sure its meant to be a strong sclerotia producer? I think there could be a 2 or more strains/varieties from that region, and so have the same name, not sure.

Psi mexicana Jalisco jars look pretty similar to Psi. mexicana a jars. They tend to produce less and smaller stones IME. Sometimes I did not see any stone development in jalisco jars. There still were some small stones after fruit harvest.
My jalisco grows were done a long time ago. 2010 I think...

People say its not a great truffle producer but i wanted to give it a try anyways. I see where truffles are starting. Just the brown spots are pretty odd compared to tampanensis

The thread title is correct. Jalisco is a variety of Psilocybe Mexicana.

I’d say they’re more like varietes or breeds/races as they all display distinct phenotypic characteristics such as the considerable variation in the shapes and colors of their caps.

Sorry, I lack the taxonomical/genetics language. I’m thinking of it more like cattle....hereford, angus, longhorn, etc...they’re all the same species but have their own breed characteristics with various phenotypes within the breed. My tamps look way diff than your tamps, but we can both tell they’re tamps....not Jalisco or Chicon Nindo which both have their own distinct characteristics even though they can all be interbred.

Yah but varieties are 'created' from phenotypes. And people go 'ooo look a random visual difference!' I have a new variety..
Phenotype becomes the 'variety'. but its all the same shit.
