and it's a clear, decisive victory, with well over 50% of the electoral votes and popular vote, will people still be fussing over the 2000 election?
i'm just curious.

Fussing? No.
Whining? Hell yes.

If all that were to happen, then I'd say probably not. If Bush gets re-elected, I'll be more worried about how life in a bankrupt country will be.

The important question is that how many people will be moving to Canada, the more the better.

that's twice I've had to suggest this today:
"The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" by Greg Palast
DOJ filed a suit in federal court charging 3 florida counties with violating voter's civil rights. Though, even that case didn't get to the bottom of the problem.
Shit went down in florida, and the ramifications of it will haunt us for years to come unless we address the issues at hand, democrat or republican.

And I can't wait to hear you whining about the massive debt we'll have to pay off because of Bush. It'll almost make it seem not so bad that I have to help pay it off too.

Well, sort of. Bush has already created a massive enough debt that we're going to have to pay it off, whether we like it or not. My hope is that Kerry won't contribute too much to the debt. Unfortunately, at some point, someone's going to have to raise taxes to pay it off, and whoever does that will probably lose some popularity points with the American people, even though it needs to be done.

Yep, someones going to have to pay for Dubya's fiscal insanity. "Let's increase spending and really cut taxes!" ...good grief!

Has it ever crossed the minds of people that raising taxes is not the answer? Why is this the first thing that people think needs to be done? How aboot cutting spending on meaningless programs and excess BS. If congress wasn't so busy giving themselves and thier lobbyists raises we woul'dn't be having this discussion. Sure taxes need to be paid to a point but raising it now is sad. Most government programs are useless and do nothing but fill the pockets of the leeches of society. I'd be in support of canning most of the programs that are offered through the government and forcing private industries to pay for it. Bush is on a fucking spending spree far and away from his "republican" roots he likes to spout and Kerry would just do what democrates do and spend it on more government programs while raising the taxes of the average person. Fuck em all, including the socialist Nader.

-------------------- The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame". In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience. And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him. "Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

This is true. I've worked for the Forest Service, and there is indeed a lot of waste, and most of it is just simple duplication of effort. As with most government services, there's usually 5 people doing a job that 2 could do easily. If you could eliminate some of that, there could be some very significant savings!
